Latest Resident Evil Movie

Post by 3DOKid » Sat Oct 09, 2010 2:46 pm

Is aces.

If Capcom did a job half as good as Hollywood, RE5 would have been the greatest game ever. Sadly it was bobbins. The film however is ace.

I saw it in 3D. The beginning was a little cheesy with the 3D in-your-face effects (and being blatant that Milla Jovovich wasn't 3D with the effects*) but the rest of the movie was great. I'm sure it will still look great in 2D if that is the way you prefer to watch it. However I do suggest the 3D for the perspective shots and two key scenes: the beach long shot and the shower scene (not what you think).

saw the movie in 2D (the only way to see movies, 3D is bullshit)

great movie. before it came out i thought they would make it so that milla would be literally everywhere since there was so many of her, but i liked the way they got rid of the multiples

I'll get the full set on Blu Ray when it's out. I really enjoyed the whole series. I've never watched a 3D movie with silly spec's so I'm tempted. I guess the Blu Ray release will have 2D and 3D :)

Me too. And to the 3D nay sayers, trust me it will get better. Right now they are trying to sensationalize it. The Top Gun type glasses do have to change to something comfortable however. I might buy some cheap sunglasses and remove the lenses and then put in the ones from the movie specs.

Personally I thought this was prob the best movie of the series so far.

...more of a gimmick really.

I wonder if they will release all the 3D films they made last time they were trying to flog this.

Jaws 3D? Jason 3D? Etc...

I wouldn't waste your money. HDDTV is impressive for the 10Seconds you are paying attention to it. When you watch a movie or TV, your brain zeros in on on what you're watching (not what you're watching it on) and you don't notice anymore. Blu ray and HDTV has hardly improved the overall quality of my life.

Digital TV on the other hand just makes me angry. If the signal isn't as pure a mountain water then you just get a blank screen. At least with RF you could grow accustomed to the fuzz.

Deep Throat 3D. We can start counting, it won't be long.

Hollywood started doing 3D again because people are putting more money into big HD screens and surround sound systems. Ticket sales have been hurting and they needed something to get people back into the theater. Most multiplexes in New York offer the movies in both 3D and 2D. I like this 3D, it's not that hokey crap we had with the old red and blue glasses. Now if they could make glasses that were more comfortable and didn't jack up the ticket price that would be nice. Maybe like a deposit for the cost of the glasses... pay $2 extra with ticket, bring them back in good shape after the film and get your $2 back.

I'm not entirely convinced I want to see that in 3D. If at all. The idea of a "Gentlemans regions", bobbing about in 3D, playing havock with my depth perception. Just no really.

You have to admit the comedy potential in unannounced screenings is limitless, though.

I male friend of mine told me about a porn movie he bought on DVD when they were still a new item. Claimed he bought it because it was in 5.1, suuuuuure he did. Anyway I asked him if that was so he could hear the jiz flying past his head during the money shot.

I saw this porno scene where a nurse is trying to cheer up a suicidal patient. It scored points for originality in not having the "There's something wrong with my penis!" approach, I guess. The patient even requested "The Nightime, Sniffling, Sneezing, Coughing, Aching, Stuffyhead, Fever, So-You-Can-DIE Medicine." which I found uncommonly humorous.

But here's the real kicker...

You know the Evil Dead/Army of Darkness flicks where the director did a demon's PoV during a chase scene by tying the camera to the end of a stick, overcranking the film, and playing an engine in reverse for the soundtrack?

This film used a technique JUST LIKE THAT, except the PoV was thrusting toward the nurse's vagina. This two second shot heralded the beginning of the sex, where she had mounted his face.

I turned the thing off and never watched porn after that. There was just no way to match that. I haven't watched many movies after that, actually.

I think I'd have a heart attack if that was done in 3D with 5.1.
