Seriously, this is the 3rd time I've seen this stupid junk in recent times. Work computer got it, than a friend at work, and now our home comp.

I am not gonna pay $50 for a bogus securtiy program to remove a virus that it has caused! :x

Security Suite, Windows Defender Pro, or however many dozens of names this trojan virus has w/its po box in the bahamas or wherever. I wish loser hackers would get out of mamas basement and apply their geeky tech talents to useful ends.

I'm done my rant, I need to cool off. Now what was that site Lemmi suggested ...

ahhh yes, I know that one. One of my girlfriends had a prob with that particular breed. It seems to get in from websites with streaming video.

Yeah I got it somehow once. It's weird cause it just literaly intrudes really quick and is annoying but it doesn't really do any damage. Good thing it's easily disposed of if you have the necessary tools. There has been so many variants of that, it's not even funny.

As part of my job function i tested AV recently. 100 random dodgy looking files, checked against standard AV engines.

Avast! or Kespersky they were both pretty good. Blocked loads of viruses between them.

I also tested Norton, BitDefender, Trend which were okay but not worth the money. Blocked most viruses. Norton of all these mentioned in this posts was the easiest and best to use but had an average hit rate.

I also tested Clam AV and McAfee which were complete and utter rubbish, they blocked almost nothing (8 of 100 and 11 of 100 respectively) where as Avast! or McAfee blocked over 40 files.

Avast! is free too.

I use Avira Antivir Pro and haven't had a prob since I switched from AVG. (AVG became a memory hog) Never use Norton it is baaaad, if you get infected and Norton becomes infected it cannot detect the virus. And it seems to have very weak virus protection and it does not uninstall easily. Ph and Avira updates their virus list daily! :D

For fun take a computer, install both McAfee & Norton and watch them try to take each other out! They will battle to the death trying to rip the other out of the system but please note the computer you do this too will not be usable.
