Right ...........I keep reading in various places that the TRY plays VCD's without an add on - others mention a proposed add on that was never released. I have tried VCD's in mine with no joy (however they are PAL)

Myth Busted!
Sanyo TRY models DO NOT play VCD's ! I tried both Pal & NTSC in mine and they only registered as unplayable Audio CD's! There is an AV expansion port on the Sanyo for a module - but I certainly do not know of any that were produced. I may attempt to modify a Goldstar module to see if it will work in the slot.

I've never even seen a mock-up VCD module for the Sanyo, so I'm not sure if that ever got anywhere or not.
FZ-FV1/FZ-FV1A works though.
