I'm new!!

Hi guys,

My name is Christian and I'm of the Atari Jaguar ilk. I saw a post recently over at Atariage about support for both systems and decided to buy one (a 3DO that is!)

I got one boxed with instructions and quite a lot of games and so far have only had chance to try 3 of them as I'm an insanely busy person! Quite pleased with my buy but the CD drive tends to rattle a lot when loading - is this normal or have i bought a dud?

Any general info I should know as a starter to the 3DO?

Oh it's an original panasonic by the way FZ-1 I think it's called. Don't like the other designs over this one.

I love it - it's a very mature system 8)

Cheers guys.

Hello! My FZ-1's CD-ROM is well noisy too, and every other FZ-1 I've seen (I used to work at a retailer's when the 3DO was released).

One tip I'll give you, in case you hadn't noticed yet - there's no in-built save manager on the FZ-1, unless you have the VideoCD module plugged onto the side, so you'll need to press STOP while booting the Sampler CD to load the manager software. I think there are other discs that can do this too (obviously Game Guru), but I can't say which off the top of my head.

Enjoy the 3DO!

My lovely assistant, 3Doexperience, has created a sticky on this very topic.

Thanks - that's releaved me somewhat that my 3do is normal (ie making a racket). I might open it up and gently WD40 a few bits. (ok that comment's made a few people cringe).

Thanks for tip on the save manager - I've got the sampler CD..I'll give it a go..

Cheers
