RJ Mical - this thread is for you.

Let's line up some question for Mr RJ Mical and see if he will answer :)

First things first: Thank you Mr Mical. I've had my PAL 3DO for 14 trouble free years and it's been the most fun machine I've ever owned.

We have some questions, here are mine:

1) Do you still own a 3DO multiplayer and do you ever play on it?

1b) Which game?

2) Were there any parts of the 3DO design you weren't happy with?

3) With hindsight what would you have changed about the 3DO?

4) The software on the 3DO varies greatly. From Plumbers don't wear ties to Wing Commander III. Was this because 3DO made it too easy for rubbish developers, or was the system to hard, or just a reflection of the times?

5) What was your favourite game?

6) Which game for the 3DO most impressed you?

7) Do you ever still talk to Trip Hawkins?

8) Did the 3DO have a "hello world" day. What was it like?

9) Do you remember 3Do with fondness or do you despise hearing about it?

10) 3DO was better than the Atari Jaguar... wasn't it? (we know it was :) )

11) We (3DO Zone chaps) see the 3DO as the standard bearer for the past 15 years of gaming, the PS3/360 exist in their current forms thanks to the vision 3DO had, is that how you see it?

12) What was the lowest point being part of the 3DO for you?

13) What was the high point?

Three Dimensional Optics was another suggestion for the name, but Matt is correct with his answer.

3DO was cutting edge as was the Atari Lynx. Was there a specific attraction for working on riskier top of the line chipsets, as opposed to more run of the mill (but likely more profitable) hardware?
