After all these years, I finally went ahead and purchased this beloved console for what I believed to be a pretty good deal: mint condition FZ-1 still in its box with manual and two controllers for $60. The seller also said she would throw in some extras that she didn’t list in the description.
I love the anticipation that has built up inside of me this past week waiting for it to arrive, even though I have wanted this console for like 10 years. There’s something very mysterious about this system that has interested me from all those years ago as a small child. I remember going to the mall with my family and standing there with my brother for what must have been hours watching 3DO demonstrations playing. I would beg my mom to take me to the mall just so I could watch the gory deaths in Battle Chess, or the amazing videos of Wing Commander… I couldn’t believe my eyes.
This time I’ve been waiting for my 3DO has been great, I’ve been doing a lot of research on it, and reading almost every topic in every board about it… and something tells me I’m going to enjoy playing this bad boy a lot more than the current-gen systems.
I’m very happy to now be an active part of this wonderful community, long live 3DO!
