You trying it on USA or JP machine? I know pal version will not work so would USA copy run on a jap/NTSC machine can anyone confirm?

I have the US version running on this JP machine. The same JP machine rejected the PAL version.

Thanks. I have recently finally managed to obtain a Japanese copy. Was advised on here it did get a release there but don't see it often. Was getting tempted to just burn it. Did want to know if the USA one would run so thanks again.

Thanks. Was considering buying it as return fire plays fine but I did see on the back of the sequel it states it runs in letterbox on pal systems or something and thought hmmm as alone in the dark also states something specific about how it plays in pal format and will not run on NTSC/japanese console. Is good to know what ones not to buy. Just need an NTSC alone in the dark as I believe it would run USA copy ok, have found a Japanese Wolfy and now just need to find a maps o death. Have not seen Japanese version of that can anyone confirm it was released? Do you know if USA one will run on JP machine? Have seen the original but never the second one in Japanese format. All good knowledge and can help people. I have a nice pal copy of AITD I can't use....

FUJISAN could maybe confirm if there was a Japanese release. Given the 3DO seemed to do better there and it was a follow on to one of the generally well received games you would think so. Then again, could be just as likely only way will get to play is if I buy another different region machine have been thinking about getting a cheap unboxed pal fz10 to let me play things that unfortunate and seemingly random region locking/compatibility and indeed availability issues mean I can't otherwise. Wolfenstein took me a long time to find! Part of the fun of collecting though.

Id avoid the FZ-10-E, or any other -E models for that matter. The 640x480 resolution of the games is displayed as a window inside a 768x576 viewable area.
