Yup, no joke.

Re: Street Fighter II on the... Virtual Boy?
Ok. Saw this about 2 weeks ago now.
As I've said elsewhere, I was really impressed with this. Someone made the throwaway comment "just looks like the SNES version"... but being the fighting game nut I am, I can honestly tell you that (aside the obvious colour deficiency) this version has more animation and detail > SNES version. Probably closer to what you'd expect from a PCE CD version of the game (i.e. console notoriously good for uber faithful arcade ports). I was a bit gobsmacked by it tbh.
Only things that looked odd, was the descending arc of Ryu's Shoryuken and the fact that characters can be lost in the frontmost layer of parallax details (i.e. the elephant on Dhalsims stage!).
Very impressive though...

Virtual boy had a 32 bit processor. The games never really did it justice.
I do have a FlashBoy for checking this out.
The VB scene has tons of great demo's, but then people never finish the projects.

I actually like that there are objects in the foreground. This is motivation enough to fix up my other VB and play it. I hope he does a full version!NeoGeoNinja wrote:....characters can be lost in the frontmost layer of parallax details (i.e. the elephant on Dhalsims stage!).

Fair enough.3DO Experience wrote:I actually like that there are objects in the foreground. This is motivation enough to fix up my other VB and play it. I hope he does a full version!
But technically, it's pretty damn wrong!
