Ice Breaker II Re-Release.
After being in contact with Andy Looney, and chatting with him about how things worked out at 3DOManiac, the ill fated 3DO site I was running, we had plans in place to make another run of Ice Breaker II available to the public. Obviously, this did not happen. Health issues came into account and the site dies a very sad and slow death. Fast forward a couple of years and here we are again, however, this is amazing news. No more having to deal with ebay and spending a fortune for Ice Breaker II. Why? Because it is going to be free. Basically, Looney is sending me a master disc and I will be handling the distribution of said disc. A DVD style case cover will be made that you can print on your own. I can also make a file with the CD Label art when it is done to differentiate this disc from the Older Games one, that way it doesn't cost me a ton to make these. Shipping will be free inside the US. Over seas, I am sorry, but you have to at least pay shipping. Right now, I have 20 spots open for a disc. The first spot goes to Trev because I owe him something cool from 3DOManiac. 19 more spots. Speak up or PM me and I will get you into a spot. More news to come as I receive the discs and make them. Also, before you complain about them being on CD-r media or that fact that you will have to make your own labels and such, keep in mind this is a free service.

Ok there's been a little change in plans.
The game is going to be re-authored, Andy and I talked and he had concerns about Looney Labs being involved.

He no longer has the prototype. He had one copy and it was never returned. Yes that one sold on e-bay was supposed to go back. Luckily I fixed the butchering of files that Mnemonic did. The banner screen will be new, I had one made but it had LL on it and Mr. Looney didn't want that. Best part will be, no shipping, no scams, free to download for all!Andy wrote:... I'm not sure it's right to put in a Looney Labs logo since they had no involvement and I don't think it's in LL's best interests to become entangled in this.
"Wait. You don't have a bag of charcoal in your gaming room???"
Well, cool -- It'll be nice to have a copy of the game that doesn't boot with the dumb Game Guru logo. I'll happily burn this and place it in the OlderGames case.3DO Experience wrote:Ok there's been a little change in plans.

Well T2KFreeker said he's going to make a new DVD cover. I have the single and double jewel case covers I made that will be altered (no Looney Labs logo now). So you can have more covers if you like.

Seriously though, I am just happy we will all get to play the game finally. I originally wanted a copy of the game but because I had the balls to call Oldergames on some of their crap they were doing, I was obviously bumper from their list and was never able to get the game. Really sad.

No, you aren't the scammer. OlderGames was. That jerk took money, sent out crap discs. Didn't pay anyone for their work and didn't have the rights to any of the Elite games he sold. Just do a search for OlderGames, you can read all about the treachery.

Oh I know it. I wasn't aloud to have an Ice Breaker II because I asked a question about it all. Been waiting a long time as I love the original game.3DO Experience wrote:No, you aren't the scammer. No kidding. They stole $60 from me. They made you pay for shipping when you purchased the games and said you would be reimbursed if you picked your games up in person at the 2007 CGE, which I did. The reimbursment was supposed to follow a few weeks later. Never happened.

Wait. What !?
I'm pretty sure that I bought that proto disk of IB2.
I'm not 100% sure though as I think that I have more than one proto of that game.
Does anyone happen to remember approx when that auction for IB2 ended (the one that belonged to Andy)?
