Andrew Looney of Icebreaker fame

Post by Trev » Mon Jun 08, 2009 2:17 am

So even if a fresh run of Icebreaker II is out of the question (w/Andrew losing his work to Oldergames) would not ports of some of his other unfinished work (Incredible Idiots in Space for example) to 3DO at least be conceivable? Assuming some arrangement could be worked out w/the russian chap who has the info on encryption. Evidently he was/is skilled at working w/the 3DO console, and assuming he still had a testing station ...

Wishful thinking only ...?

As far as I know OG only got Icebreaker. Even if he had and an agreement with OG it's not like it's worth the paper it was written on.

Think you misunderstood my post ... forgetting OG, what are the future prospects for Andrew & 3DO? He has the skills, and he is a fan ...

Andy's lone post on the all but dead 3DO Maniac forum ...

It's me, Andy Looney, creator of Icebreaker and Icebreaker 2!

I'm not just a former 3DO programmer, I'm also a fan...

My favorite 3DO game (besides mine of course) is TRIP'D

So how many people here got a copy of Icebreaker 2 before OlderGames vanished? How'd you like it? What's your favorite level? What's your favorite new feature? What's your favorite wacky test program?

This is the site he needs to see! 3DO enthusiasm is centrally located here.

I , for one, liked it. I stand by my original criticism, in so much that perhaps their were too many ideas, and perhaps it was only 75% going towards being great, but the second, i felt was a better game.

That said, Mr Looney was far from impressed with my sarcastic comments on IceBreaker 1, I don't believe he will be posting on here anytime soon, even though i would personally love it if he did join.

You apologized ... made IB 2 a top 5O pick ... short of a re-write what else could you do? I doubt he has a grudge against you ... I really do. You both have a love of 3DO ... that is what counts! :)
