... I know it's been kinda quiet, but I'd rather have no posts than new or bumped threads of spam. :P

Yeah. 3DOExperience has been battling with it for a few days.

Yup, I logged in around 2am to find 5 or 6 new spammers. One of which made 20 posts. I've made a change that may help. If more spam shows up I will make it even harder for them and it will insure that new members will have read the rules of the forums.

I find the picking dogs/cats registration method works wonders. Minimal setup for maximum relief.

20 posts... 20! All for his cheap Taiwanese-children made footwear. And I had to delete them one by one on my iPhone. *Zoom in, delete, scroll up, yes, zoom out, go back to his account, find the next one, repeat...." at least the other ones were kind enough to drop only one or two messages.

I also run a phpbb forum, and it's a pain blocking the bots.
There are captcha settings that make it too hard for humans to read.
You have to use the captcha question addon.

Ehm, where do you think footwear is made by any other company? Im not defending spammers, but unless they are also scammers, you get basically the same thing without paying Nike or Adidas the majority of the price for just the brand name. They are basically all made by the same type of people in asia, quite possibly in the very same factories..

Thanks for getting rid of the spam though. We all prefer spamfree email accounts and forums.
