Classic Gaming Expo 2012

Post by bitrate » Sun Jan 22, 2012 12:12 am

Anyone here plan on attending?

They had a pretty good size show last time I went (2007) and I plan on making the trip out there again this year.

Would be great to run into some of you guys if you are going to be out there.

I read about it every year, but have never been in person. Whats the atmosphere like?

You get to the last thing quick in Vegas. And the first thing is over-rated.

I'd really like to come out to it, but it's all the way across the country for me.

As you might expect, it has quite a bit to offer.
An area dedicated to arcade cabs (which you can play) - a video game museum - booths and tables with all kinds of items for sale - raffles - speeches from big names in the video game industry - areas set up for trading - etc. etc. etc.
All of this spanned multiple rooms.

One of the reasons I went in 2007 was to pick up my order of 3DO games from Oldergames in person, as they had a booth at that show.
If you picked them up in person you were supposed to be reimbursed shipping on your order. Needless to say, that never happened. :x

Heh, I read you. :)

I go to Vegas 3 or 4 times a year for business/play so the novelty isn't quite the same.
If it were my first time going I probably wouldn't be interested in a retro gaming show either.
