yea it sucks i bought it day one, I love 3d so it was a fit for me.
sounds like i can get some free vc nes and gba games...
Id rather have a full 3ds game for the $80 loss

some day i hope to add my own 3d movies for play back
and make it a portable 3d movie player.

I tried this on my fuji w3 3d camera
watch cloudy with a chance of meatballs in 3d on it.
but it has no head phone out for watching movies on the go.

$169 is just over £100 - which is pretty good.

Does anyone know which game makes best use of the 3D?

I think 2d games look the best(steel diver) in 3d, the effect stands out and is not over whelming.

I have to turn the 3d setting real low on pilot wings.
the main problem with a game like pilot wings is it's almost impossible to keep the unit still.
It's human nature to tilt and twist while trying to control the air craft.
Each time you do that you lose the sweet spot and start to see doubles then you crash Grrr....
It takes time to learn the limits if you want to keep 3d on.

I only have pilot wings and steel diver, plus a r4 that works with it and plays ds roms.
I beat both games and got all 3 stars in pilot wings, about 24hrs of play to do that.
8hr to beat steel diver with all subs,
Its cool how the 3ds tracks the time playing each title.

I wish they had playable demos in 3d, the best you can get are the demo videos in 3d.

Supposedly Nintendo will be giving early adopters 10 free VC downloads, or something like that, provided they've registered it with Nintendo. I agree though that the price drop is a good idea. $250 USD was way too much for it, IMO. The 3D effect is nice, but technically the system wasn't a very large jump over what was already available (the PSP), unfortunately.

Yeah but no one plays PSP anymore LOL.

If you wait to see if our government messes up our dollar value you might get a better deal with the exchange rate. And I hear the 3D in Ridge Racer looks really great but I can't speak from experience.

It's at the middle of the bottom screen.

I dont mind the price drop. I also bought it day one. 20 free games? I'll take em. I will have a legit portable game collection without having to carry a bunch of carts around. I am still happy with my purchase. It will be interesting to see what sony does now with their vita.

Now how long before the 3DS Lite XL gets released?

I give Nintendo credit though, at least I'm curious about this system ... which is more than I can say about Sony's next entry.

They would have to figure out tech to make this work on bigger screens properly for an XL version, maybe.. I think this might have to do with a limitation on the eyes too?

Me too. Hand helds leave me a bit cold but i don't see the point of me getting a PSP2. All i do is load up the memory card of my current PSP and watch movies.

I believe I heard somewhere that the Vita may have TV-out on it like the later models of the PSP. If that happens, my interest will peak. Handhelds are nice, but quite frankly I don't use them that much. I no longer work the graveyard shift, so I can't play them at work. I don't really go on vacations or hang out with any other people, so it's not like I have the opportunity to play them in a hotel room or during a car ride where I am the passenger.

Has anybody tried Starfox 64 3D? That was one of my favorite games of all time, I wonder if the 3D version is good.

It's not out yet, but I am sure it will be sweet when it hits. The N64 game was (and still is) great!

It certainly looks good in screen shots. Even though it's a series that I haven't gotten into that much, I admit to being fairly interested in the update/remake. When I end up getting a 3DS, this might be one of the first games I get. I'm sure it will be a fair jump over the original N64 version.
