Say, for example, a regular forum user saw something for sale in the 'for sale' section of say, for example, this very forum. And then say, for example, he started negotiating with the seller but after several attempts it became apparent the seller was merely trying to get a feel for the value of the item, so they could put the item on eBay.
Would you, for example, ban his ass?
Purely hypothetical you understand.

Another good question to consider ... is the seller a regular contributor on the forum, or someone who only pops up to "sell" his or her merchandise? If it is the latter ... well what purpose are they serving but to take advantage of our knowledge and gauge interest 3DO products? (not to mention gettign someones hopes up)
If it is clear that they have no intent to sell, than it is dishonest. If they've gone as far as to accept an offer and than list on Ebay, I think that deserves a swift kick in the unmentionables.

Hypothetically of cause.

I say let the problem take care of itself. If you want, post something in their thread... but the person will most likely not return so a ban would not be necessary anyways.
