I hate when people write it as 3D0 instead of 3DO...

OMG! 3DO that last character is a Letter! Yeah Mobius, I can't stand it either.

ok a good article but I'd like to clear some things up for readers who follow the link.

1. "...the brainchild of Pioneer..."
NEC was the brains behind the beast, they approached Pioneer but as the things they keep asking for couldn't be done with that particular tech, ideas about the system shift and NEC lets them take over the project.

2. "...the laserdisc format was a hair’s breadth away from obsolescence by the time of LaserActive’s birth."
It was 1993 LDs were going strong, DVD was only on paper and was strictly considered for computer use. LDs stayed around until 2000 in the USA, the drop-off didn't begin until 1998. 5 years is not a hair’s breath.

3. "LaserActive discs are so scarce that they keep the system prohibitively expensive for collectors, even now."
Games have been and still are very common on e-bay, only the retro-gaming fad that has come about has driven the price of games to triple.
