Anyone?

Just picked up a Japanese copy of KoF '95 for the PS1 (due to me not having a NeoGeo) because it's the original and I fancied a play on it.

Can anyone else recommend me a KoF?

POWAH WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE!!!

I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE KoF!!!

Recommend you a KoF? Dude, they're all fantastic except for the 3D ones (Maximum Impact and Maximum Impact 2 also known as KoF 2006 here in the states).

'94 is actually the original one. It was re-released for the PS2 and Xbox in Japan under the name of KoF '94: Re-bout.

I would recommend against the PS1 versions however. They're graphically gimped missing frames of animation among other things.

The Saturn ports are graphically arcade perfect and include the CD version of the soundtrack, but they require a RAM cart which ain't that hard to get a hold off. Except for KoF '95. That game came with it's own specialized RAM cart. Sadly only KoF '95-'97 came out on the Saturn.

The Dreamcast ones are all arcade perfect. They go from '98-'02. All the later ones are available on the PS2 and Xbox.

Sadly, the best way to play the older masterpieces in their original form are through emulation. I softmodded my original Xbox and stuck in a 250 gig hard drive. It's become like an arcade station.

I recommend '97. It's my personal favorite.

Rediscovered my Neo Geo Pocket recently and currently playing KoF R2 on it. 8)

Normally big fan of Samurai Shodown, King of Fighters is starting to become a favorite.

UT... Who are your characters of choice :?:

Yes DC is the best way to easily play them. Unless you are lucky enough to get an actual arcade machine.

What I am about to show you...

You will never be able to thank me for

My favorite characters in KoF happen to be women. Yes most of my friends find that odd but I tell them to go fuck themselves in the means by playing as my favorite characters such as King and Athena Asamiya.

Athena's song is the way I start my every morning:

U.T.

No, I know what you mean. I'm only just getting into the KoF universe, but my favorite character is Leona (don't know how much respect/venom she garners in the KoF community). However it appears alot of her specials are charge moves, which I can't pull off very well, so I'm not that good at it. (slightly off track, I like to play as Vega or Blanka in SF2 but their specials are generally charge moves as well, hence why I suck at SF2)

In Samurai Shodown which is more my forte, Charlotte is my favorite character. :P

It seems to me that often the female characters in fighting games are alot more interesting either due to weapon improvisation or unusual fight techniques. Often the men/boys are lauded with power moves of generic martial arts styles ( karate/gung fu) with/without fireballs or fireblasts. The boys/men are all pretty bland IMO in KoF and the interesting ones are pissweak to play as...or maybe that's just me.

agreed - I also usually choose the female fighters as my style of play is very speed orientated.

Chun Li and her spinning bird kick was always my favourite move in SFII !

She's not built like Mai (or "Chunners" for mattyg sake!) and play the game in some type of Mai cosplay get-up?

If so, then no wonder they lose

Naw, she's just REALLY good at fighters! She even got seriously PO'ed at me because I replaced the BIOS chip in my MVS with a modified one and it automatically cleared out all her high scores.
