3DO Blaster CD ROM Drive Problem?

Hi
I am currently having a problem with my 3DO Blaster rig. Sometimes when DOS is botting up the CD ROM drive will freeze up and wont respond. Sometimes it stays like that, other times it ll correct itself. It sometimes works fine when you switch it on and will work flawlessly. It freezes up on the part when it loads the CD ROM drivers. I had this trouble for a little bit when i installed it the first time but managed to get round the problem and it worked. Then i had to change a few components in the machine and now the problem has kicked off again! So any 3DO Blaster owners have any idea what the problem may be?
