Replacement ribbon cable for Goldstar/Sanyo?
Replacement ribbon cable for Goldstar/Sanyo?
Anyone know if there is a part number or compatible replacement ribbon cable to be found for sale anywhere? This seems like a low cost thing to replace to see if it will help with my broken Sanyo CD drive...

Just buy another 3do.

Aren't the Sanyo and Goldstar CD drives the same?
"Wait. You don't have a bag of charcoal in your gaming room???"

That seems to be the case. I've been looking for working Goldstars for sale, but they are at ridiculous prices on ebay lately and I can't find a better source.

This is why I suggested a thread pooling all the knowledge of how to fix 3dos.

Can you provide a picture of the ribbon cable? Chances are it's a fairly standard cable.

This thread contains a lot of information including pictures, but I'm unclear on all of the aspects of the cable. I guess its 30 pins and needs to be about 17 cm, and IDE cable won't work.
