I got a 'private message' from a forum member who was concerned about something they posted on here. Something they regretted they posted on here. They requested that I deleted it.
Tough call right?
I think we all, from time-to-time, regret something we post on Internet forums. I do it all the time, usually rambling guff that makes me look like idiot... but I don't, and wouldn't, delete that stuff. In my honest opinion it's hard enough expressing a personality online as it is, with out deleting the truly grizzly stuff (my comments on Sega, Nintendo, Xbox, etc., etc.,) but this was different.
The person in question was, I felt, a little scared. And that is something I can relate too. And it's not nice.
...anyway I empathised with your fellow 3DOer, like I say, I consider you all friends of mine, so I deleted his posts and any reference to them.
Big Brother? Censorship? Room 101? (and other 1984 references?) call it what you want... I do it for you too, so, erm, don't think of me badly eh?

as long as you dont delete every post he ever made, then removing certain things upon request is fine
and i know who it was

Any one who read his claim, knows who this is. LOL But I do find it disturbing that other people's post were deleted as well. Even the ones who didn't quote WK.

erm... that maybe an adminstrative error, and sadly there is no undo.
Let's put it behind us and move on?
I do love you too

awwwww I love you too, just don't let your wife know
It's funny Kid, I had a dream last night that I met you. You lived in the UK but drove a US mail truck around town, were black, bald, in a wheelchair, and were a total Star Wars geek. Plus you were waaaay too much into hentai. ROFL

My father-in-law (who is Japanese) thought, before I actually met him, I was black. I guess someone did a search on the name "Will" and stumped up "Will Smith". The name "Will" is the only thing I share in common with "Will Smith" mind you. Sadly.

No worries 3DOKid. I'm not at all upset about the deletion of the posts.
I archived all of those posts long ago as I knew something like this was going to happen.

Just for the records, there was no request made to delete all the posts, especially not the ones by other people. That was apparently a misunderstanding. I had edited my posts already and only asked for the removal of my name from my posts and the quotations in the thread, since the request I made there was ignored. I guess the posts could be still there had the community shown some solidarity.

Archive? You mean a back-up? That kind of revolutionary thinking will only lead to trouble. (or an undo feature...)
...and for the record this is me:
Only I'm less American, my face has less hair and my car is more German, other than that...

...because Preecha was pure comedy gold. Deleting that stuff is like deleting a Picasso or white-washing over a Da Vinci, it's the work of genius. A complete-f**king-idiot but still a comedy genius.

No big deal ... if I had a dime for every thing I said on this forum that I later regretted, I'm sure I'd have enough to buy that Snickers from the vending machine (why are they so picky about dollar bills!?!)

Is a dime like a quarter? Or is that a cent? The paper money I'm fine with. I keep a dollar bill on my desk for novelty sake, bu tthe coins confuse the hell out me? You have a Penny too? I'm sure that was British.

quarter = 25 cents
dime = 10 cents
nickel = 5 cents
penny = 1 cent
then rarer there are 50 cent pieces and dollar coins.

The only place I ever see the dollar coins anymore are in NY (I guess mainly for the subway)

I've derailed this thread beautifully. They should make internet forum thread derailment an olympic sport. I'm a British Gold right here!

I think it's a much better thread now.
