Instruction manuals - The long and the short of them

I've always been jealous that the uk got nice
jewel case size booklets, while here in the states we often got the tall manuals. I've have probably 20 games or so that have small book equivalents overseas. I wish I could get my hands on them w/out having to re-buy the games (don't suppose anybody has some for trade/sale?)
I'm thinking of putting together a list of games that have the manual differences. (unless such a list already exists somewhere) All the Ea games are like that for sure.
If anyone had pics to show some of the changes, I'd love to see them (anal collector thing I guess)

The jewel case ones would work so much better for me (I store the bulk of my 3DO discs in cd binders for easy access) The tall ones are kinda ugly. Also, I've noticed that often the artwork has subtle differences between the two.

Still curious about this, so bumping to see if any have some to scan & compare. I think it's not just a U.S.A./U.K. difference too... didn't the pack-ins like Fifa & Shockwave have both booklets?

yes the pack-ins did have manuals but they are the same as the ones on the shelf, unless FIFA was a color manual. The one that came with my Goldstar is tall but B&W.

Oh, a topic about manuals. Great
Does anybody know where I can get the AD&D Slayer manual? I used to have it in paper form, which was kept after my console for several years, but somehow my relatives accidentally disposed pf it.

Now I would be grateful if someone told me where I can download it as a file (PDF, DjVu... no matter).

Here is an old pic of a brand new Goldstar unit that I have showing the two pack-ins. The Fifa manual being too big is inside the baggie holding the console manual and other documents.

What's in the top item with the 3DO logo on it? I got my GS off a friend and that's not in the box.

So it seems that Shockwave had both tall & short manuals here in the States. (thanks for the pics bitrate) I wonder why they changed it, but not Fifa ...

Packin game I guess. (or it was cheaper)
Nothing more disappointing was the PAL release of games. I always had a nagging doubt that over there, across the pond, the Americans with their full box NTSC version was languishing in full colour readable manuals, and I was left with grubby nasty black and white versions. Little did I know the Japanese were the worst offenders.

That's a little cardboard sleeve that holds the two pack-in games.
