3DO doesn't work the first time I turn on the power.

Post by Ricky » Sat Feb 16, 2008 3:29 am

Ever since I bought my 3DO years ago (FZ-10) I've had the same problem. When I plug it in and first flip on the power, nothing happens. It doesn't try to access the disc. When I flip it on a second time, it works fine. Has anyone else had this problem or know what would cause that?

Thanks very much.

Does it happen like that every time? Only powers on at the second try or does it some times go on the first or say take more than twice? If it is either of those scenarios I'd say it could be the switch... Maybe

Thanks for the reply.

I'd say almost every time it powers on at the second try. I usually unplug it when not in use. If I happen to leave it plugged in, I believe it sometimes powers on at the first try. I almost always unplug it though.

maybe the power button id being pushed in while its not plugged in. but i guess then it would turn on when plugged in. but when you say twice, does that mean you have hit the button 3 times? (on off on) It might be the power supply is going.

It's being doing this ever since I bought the system (new). I have to hit the button 3 times. I turn it on and nothing happens, so I shut it off. Then I turn it on and again and it's fine.

It's almost as if it needs to be turned on twice because it isn't getting enough power the first time.

Whether there is a disc in or not, when I first turn it on the power light goes on (red light), but it does not even try to access the a disc (no green light), so the screen remains blank. I turn it on a second time and it works fine.

Any thoughts?

Thanks
