i never opened one of those guns up before, but i would think it would be straight forward "put it back together" deals if none of the pieces are broken.

btw, i never noticed that little black button. what does it do?

Id like to know what that button is because my gun didnt work to well on my tv. Seemed too inaccurate to be usable.

Hey,

I realize that I'm way after the fact in replying to this, but I'm new to the forum, and was just searching for Light Gun topics. The little black button is a start button, and on most American Laser Games it takes you to a screen that will allow you to calibrate your aim. You can also most often access calibration from a continue screen. Contrary to what I hear from many people, the 3DO GameGun is quite accurate, but you do have to calibrate it EVERY time you use it. If you don't, it'll be all over the place.

The calibration screen is simply a red and white target. Aim and shoot at the middle of the target until you get a shot that's perfectly accurate. Then shoot at the button to go back to the menu. You won't have to recalibrate it again until you power off, or change the game.

If I recall correctly, the 3DO gun was pretty universally heralded by reviewing magazines as the most accurate of the American Laser Games Guns produced for home systems. I know for a fact that it was much more accurate than the Sega version.

I find it sucks compared to the NES Zapper & Super Scope.

Hahahahaha! Nes Zapper ruled all!!!! Now that thing could take a pounding, and calibration wasn't ever a question. Plus it had that one of a kind trigger sound. Ahh...the classics!

KA-CHING!

I just dont think that gun liked my tv at all. It was some what working but it would be a little jumpy for me, enough to make it not worth using.

I find the zapper most accurate, especially at point blank range!
