For all of you, and me, who bought Powerslide and wished there was SOME sound in the game I bring you the soundtrack right off the disc!

http://www.geocities.com/posztc/Powersl ... 37_3DO.zip

It's a 42.3KB zip with all the songs meant to be in the game. Can't say it's the best music but hey it wasn't finished. They are midi files BTW.

Enjoy :D

I was just reading 3DO Kid's blog and in Powerslide he wrote "There is no collision detection with either the objects on the side of the road or indeed the slightly eclectic opponent, who appears from no-where then disappears in the same manner." I just wanted to point out that I have been hit by the other car before and he slammed me off the road. How ever it only ever happens from behind. Just and (un)interesting tidbit.

You were also hit from behind with a $25 purchase price for a tech demo that should be free. Just wanted to point that out...Yes, I'm very disillusioned about the release of this game! In case no one's figured it out with that remark...

I paid for the encryption and to support the possible release of more unreleased games. Yes the hardly-even-a-beta stage of it was a bit of a disappointment but I gotta admit, it's still really fun the way it is. Would have preferred a cheaper price but the second game made it even.

Free? It took Oldergames a lot of effort to get hold of the game, to get the original developers to agree to let him publish the game, and then for him to work with that Russian guy (Mnemonic?) to get the game signed and encrypted. Not to mention packaging, the website, promoting, etc., etc. I think it's unfair to expect something for nothing. Oldergames has to eat (LOL!) he isn't Atari or EA, he's a guy trying to carve a niche for himself. That's not easy in this world.

Anyway - something I didn't mention in the blog was you get a bonus game in the Powerslide pack - a football sim called 'Footie'. I think Gir mentions it somewhere else on here. It's much more 'complete' and plays like a cross between Fifa and Sensible Soccer. It seems pretty good fun. Although I don't think many people in the U.S. will get many thrills from watching Everton play Ipswich Town. LOL. (No Cambridge City!!!?? OMG!? etc.,)

The 3DO hasn't seen 1 thing released since it's withdrawl back in 1996/7. I don't think £12.50/$25 is too much to ask. There is no gun to anyones head - if people think it's too much, then don't pay for it.

Oldergames is a member of this forum. He has been a great contributer to this tiny 3DO community. I for one hope that he continues to release previously unreleased stuff for the 3DO regardless of what state of developement it might be in. If he doesn't? Well many of us without Dev kits and insider links will never see anything new for the 3DO again. And for that? I think £12.50 is a fair price in all honesty.

What would £12.50 buy me anyway? 3 magazines? A round of drinks? 2 gallons of petrol. A third of a copy of Excite Truck or PGR3 or VF5? Not a lot.

3DO Kid.

Edit: I'm aware the $25 probably buys an oil rig in the U.S. :) LOL

I mentioned it and did a mini review. I also posted screen shots in OLDERGAMES.COM ANNOUNCES FOUR NEW 3DO GAMES FOR CGE2K7!!! page 6. And yeah, they musta gone thru a lot of work to get these games out to us so no one should be complaining, especially someone who didn't buy them.

Oh and Kid, $25 doesn't even fill your gas tank anymore. :(

Mate, mate, mate. I have a 50L tank. It costs me £40 ($80) to fill it ;)

Don't even start :)

Don't you guys have a tax you pay on gas even before you start pumping?

I think the extra game offer was a very nice gesture on the part of Older Games! Also, they were not misleading in presenting PowerSlide (no one here was expecting a 100% game) Plus, as has been mentioned already, our support with this first batch of games can lead to future (and hopefully even better releases) My games ship today and I can't wait to get them! :P

We have Road Tax, conjestion charge and a silly amount of tax on every litre of petrol.
