Did anyone ever manage to get into this? I've given it a few goes, but it generally leaves me cold.

Haven't played it myself, but I've got a lot of friends who were really really into the DOS version back in the day. To this day, many people compare modern hex wargames to this one, as if it is the best one ever to exist. Personally, I'm not into the genre.

I keep meaning to try it, though it and The Perfect General always compete for my attention and kind of cancel each other out. I finally got a manual for it a while back, so that'll help.
I seem to remember reading that the 3DO version had a nasty savegame bug.
