Mind you I just woke up.

1. D
2. Daedalus Encounter
3. Creature Shock
4. HELL
5. Total Eclipse (Volcano Boss)

Had to steal that last one as you are very right. As we can see I picked games with plenty of pre-rendered graphics.

This is tough one. Some games just have a great art style for instance, but aren't exactly pushing the hardware. The 3DO version of Out of this world comes to mind ... I love the additions to the background, but the character models are meh.

The Lost Files of Sherlock Homes is another ... the game has rich color, is beautifully illustrated, and each scene is crammed with detail! But even at release it was dated.

^Good call, Casper is a very nice-looking game. Lost Eden is also very pretty.

The two flagship driving games (CnB, NFS) are really quite impressive, as are the better fighters (SSFII Turbo, Samurai Shodown). Heck, even Eye of Typhoon looks very good.

I was trying to think of Japanese exclusives that fit the bill, and was looking at this video of N.O.B. with the sound off and Steely Dan's "Josie" playing in the background. Cue a bunch of Dark Side of the Moon + Wizard of Oz coincidences, as the two of them meshed perfectly! My fiancée and I were cracking up -- maybe I'll have to actually make a proper video of it, because it was funny as hell.

1. DOOM (Hey, you didn't say they had to be playable)
2. Bladeforce
3. Need for Speed
4. Killing Time (in stills ;))
5. Super Street Fighter II Turbo (absolutely beautiful 2D work.. even if it's missing some of the scrolling).
