Cowboy Casino
While browsing for 3DO games on Ebay, I noticed a complete-in-box copy of this game is about to end with no bids despite a starting price of $10 shipped. I can't find any reviews of this game, and even 3DO Kid's blog doesn't cover it. Nor was it mentioned in the "casino simulator" thread, despite my mistaken claim in the original post that the 3DO doesn't have any casino simulators. Is this game really that forgettable?
Re: Cowboy Casino
I'd say it's pretty forgettable, yeah. It's fmv heavy, and I've encountered glitches and bugs when playing it.

Re: Cowboy Casino
...nyyeh, ended up buying it anyway. Mainly, I must admit, out of sympathy for the seller. You know, "Somebody has got to take that game off that poor seller's hands. This is one of the few sellers out there putting reasonable starting bids on 3DO games, and look at what he gets for it!" But $10 shipped is a good deal for a complete 3DO game, even a crummy one, and I would like to at least try the game out. If nothing else, I can have the distinction of being Cowboy Casino's first reviewer.

Sounds good. I'll be curious to see if you encounter any glitches ... I seemed to run into a few. I made a post about them forever ago, but I don't think I was able to get any confirmation (perhaps because few have played this game)Martin III wrote: But $10 shipped is a good deal for a complete 3DO game, even a crummy one, and I would like to at least try the game out. Re: Cowboy Casino
I found the thread you were talking about. I've had two considerable play sessions and haven't seen any of the glitches you mentioned so far. The one glitch I've encountered is an unimportant one: the deducting of the ante from the player's balances is out-of-synch with the animation of the ante being placed. I'll try lowering the starting balances so I can see what happens when a player is cleaned out. You mentioned the FMV; there's an option to turn it off.Trev wrote:Sounds good. On a more general note, I've found this game entertaining enough for the $10 I spent on it. The inability to save current standings is admittedly a game-killing flaw, and the way the music constantly pauses and restarts is annoying as heck (thank goodness you can turn it off). But I like the animations, the selection of games is good, and the enemy AI, while a little quirky, puts up a good fight. I also like having a set of characters to play against, rather than generic AI players.
Cowboy Casino doesn't support the 3DO mouse, does it? I know it wasn't mentioned in any of the mouse threads, but it wasn't mentioned in the casino thread either, so I'm guessing folks here have a general tendency to forget the game.
