Mathemagics
Being a math lover, I started hunting for this game ago, and... Well, I didn't know to begin with that it's actually on the collectible side.
Given that I'm not a collector (as mentioned recently in another thread), my question now is: Is it worth paying the usual asking price for Mathemagics if my sole interest is in playing it? Or is it a curiosity piece, of value only to 3DO collectors?
Honestly, it isn't worth it in my opinion. The titles not bad for being edutainment, but there just isn't a whole lot of content if I remember right. I wouldn't be surprised if you could just google the instructors name and find lesson vids of his on Youtube.
The whole 'learning cube' thing was really just an attempt to incorporate lots of fmv ... entertaining at the time perhaps, but nothing that really gave it much of an edge over plain old text. If you are curious, the other cube title for snowboarding is fairly common, and it has the same interface.
One of my big regrets, from a collectable standpoint, was trading Mathemagics for either Creature Shark or Sewer Shock ... can't remember which one, but it was a bad trade from when I didn't know better.
