Greetings !
I´ve got a japanese FZ-1, everytime I try to power up the console the fuse blows immediately.
I guess it must be a problem with the power supply, maybe the big black capacitor ( 25 V, 6800µF ) on the board?
At the bottom of the capacitor there is something like solid brown glue or resin but the cap itself looks ok.
Thanks !
Great forum !!

If you don't mind sacrificing it, try a bigger fuse

Trying a bigger fuse will kill sth else. See if sth has stuck somewhere and shorts sth.

Fully agree with pitsunami. Fuses blow for a reason, they are there to protect the rest of the electronics. The worst you can do is to put in a stronger fuse, as that *will* cause additional damage, and it's highly dangerous too.

I know, this would kill the power supply for sure.
I am going to change that capacitor, soldering a new one is not a big business.

You could always swap out another 3DO power supply. The FZ-1 was built modular, so it simply unplugs. Slap in a new one and you're good to go.
