What's the best 3DO Dungeons and Dragons game?...

I ask, because I've heard that one of the games has really slippery control, among other problems.

I'm more partial to Slayer, but to be fair I have not had the time to really put in any time in Deathkeep .. yet.

Certainly one of them two. The graphics engines on both games are really under-rated, probably the best FPS engine on the system. The number of opponents (creatures?) in Deathkeep is amazing too. The only problem is Deathkeep is frustratingly hard , stupidly hard. That said, there is a cheat, and roaming around the dungeons soaking up the atmosphere and sights is pretty good fun

Slayer has a lot of customization options that Deathkeep lacks. I'd pick it, since you aren't limited to already existing characters, the dungeons change, you have control over monsters you meet, etc...

So, is Deathkeep really bad, or just not as good as Slayer??

There's only two of em. Why do you have to pick the best one?

Depends on who you ask. Heck, according to Racketboy's list that was just posted, Deathkeep is
better than Slayer!
The sense I get from listening to Deathkeep's detractors, though, is that they find the game not so much bad as just too hard even on the first dungeon level.

True. The Video Game Critic trashed Phoenix 3 on his site, but right now, it's my favorite 3DO game-I love it!
I watched some Youtube footage of Deathkeep, and it looks really fun, so I'll get both at some point.

Now I haven't played both of them but it sounds like they should both be played but starting with Slayer.

Deathkeep and Slayer are both very solid games. The world when they came out wasn't after a Dungeons and Dragons game, sadly for both these games.
On a side note, I always wanted to play Dungeons and Dragons

(proper like, with a 20side dice and everything)
