Goal Field Hunter is crazy!

Firstly, it took me a bit of digging to even find out the English name of this game ... thanks goes to you bitrate, for telling me in this older soccer thread you posted ...

Secondly, It doesn't even seem to be a "real" soccer game. I don't mean like a Soccer Kid type platformer, but ...
-It is loaded w/long (and pretty good looking actually) animated cut scenes.
-The start of matches appear almost like 1 on 1 fighters w/an individual face on each side of the vs. because ...
-Rather than face off against teams, you often have 1 on 1 soccer matches!
I did eventually get to a team match, but between all the talking (how anyone learns to speak Japanese is beyond me ... credit to them) the lengthy animated clips, the fumbling around w/Japanese text (no English whatsoever) ... I don't know what to think ...
The game is so odd I'm tempted to suggest hunting for it despite the fact that its barely playable (besides the language barrier, the camera sucks!)
A coming of age story, as a young man battles bullies with his foot work, finds true love on the soccer field, and discovers within himself an inner strength that is needed to save the world as the forces of darkness converge on the World Cup ... Is it? I have no clue.
But it is nuts, that for sure!
Yeah, its still too early to make a fair call, but I gotta give it props for grabbing my interest like this. For being so different, I'd recommend it.
