With sound and a bit of gameplay tacked on the end. :)

Nah - to get out the village you have to complete, I guess, some sort of quest, at which point I'll battle something. Sadly the lingustic challenge is too much for my phrase book. (And the in house translator can't be arsed!)

If there was ever a Japanese game that I would like an English translation of, it is this one.

Yeh, that's the one biggest disappointment with the 3DO; quite a few decent games that are only available in Japanese. Policenauts, The Tower, Blue Forest Story are highly rated titles that many Westerners will never have the joy of playing. Some of the driving and sport sims are playable, but the language barrier still makes it diffcult to get the most out of them. Is there a possibility that the potential homebrew scene can lead to language translations?

I think Gir outlined a soft-translation technique. Editing the text without screwing with the hashing algorithm.

I have a feeling that the Freedo team is going to release a 'bios free' version of freedo - at which point I'll guess it will be open season.

I guess we will have to wait and see.
