About Super Street Fighter 2X Grand Master Challenge for 3DO

I'm aware the US 3DO edition (Super Street Fighter II' Turbo) is highly censored compared to it's Arcade, Saturn, and PSOne counter-parts. But what about the original Japanese version? When Blanka does the head bite or if Vega (claw) stabs someone will we see that crimson red splash or just another generic hitspark?

I hope it's the former, if so I may invest in the Japan release. Was never a fan of developers negating content just to allude mature ratings.

It is censored? Really?
And even though it's considered to be the best port?

Didn't know that - I actually own the Japanese version,
but I am lacking the comparison material (pics) to judge.
Never played the arcade version or the other ports.

I have the Japanese version and do not remember it being any different from the US version. It's been a while since I've tried it though, so I could be wrong..

Both of you should fire up the Panasonic and insert your Japanese copies of SSF2X:GMC. Press hard/fierce punch on any character and see if blood comes out. That ought to do the trick. I would pick Vega/Balrog and Blanka (Headbite Grab ==> + HP) just to make sure.

Chances are I'll stick with the American version as I can already see blood on Saturn and Dreamcast versions. 3DO's Street Fighter, blood or not will still remain my preferred port. (gotta love that soundtrack)

I didn't see blood in either version.

Guess that settles it then, there's nothing unique about either of them outside of the text (winscreen/endings) and title name.

I'll just play my American copy. Though it is odd they would leave out the blood for Panasonic's system and not the other versions.

I find it strange too.
