				The 3DO's final bows

I always find it interesting to read about the last few games released for a console before it was discontinued, those final attempts to pump life into a dying product. Many demonstrate that the developers have learned how to use the hardware better than any earlier games had, while others are sloppy titles rushed to completion so they could be released before the console's death.
Unfortunately, I haven't seen anything online on what the 3DO's final offerings were. Can youse guys fill me in?

Off the top of my head, a few that got late releases were ....
-Johnny Bazzokatone
-Olympic Soccer & Olympic Summer games
-Robinson's Requiem
I'd say check the year stamped on the disc, but that is not always a good indicator especially for 4th quarter releases.

Wasn't Lucienne's Quest the last US release? And that was an awesome game.

LQ was one of the last releases, but not the last. And yes, it is awesome! (I'm actually playing it right now)

Lucienne's Quest was actually made rare in the US when it was recalled from stores by Panasonic on the death of the system. Its a much more common title in Japan as "Sword & Sorcery".

Wow.. and one by Capcom, to boot! I wonder how profitable the 3DO was for them?

Very interesting! I just took a look on GameFAQs, and according to them this and Super Street Fighter II Turbo were the only two games Capcom did for the 3DO.

It's a shame so many unfinished titles just never see the light of day. Who knows how much potential some of them could've had.
It's a shame there isn't like a video game museam and when a game gets scrapped, it goes there where people could check it out, get a glimpse of things that might have been.
This would be especially good for consoles like the 3DO where let's be honest...it's an extremely small community. It'd be great for the preservation of gaming history.
I know when I had a 3DO I wanted a port of Mortal Kombat 2.
I really wanted to play NHL 96 and the Star Trek: Next Generation. Sucks they never came out. I wonder how far along they we're in production, and if there's any beta copies floating around out there somewhere

Ewww. No. Even the majority of games that get finished are mediocre to poor, and unfinished games are on average games that would have been below par even if they had been finished. As disappointing as it is when a good-looking game gets canceled, with 95% of canceled games we're not missing anything.
