Demolition Man-a good game or bad??...

Post by dave4shmups » Sun Dec 26, 2010 11:28 pm

I've seen some footage of this game on Youtube and it looks great, although the fighting sections look awkward. Is is a good 3DO game to pick up??

Gun gallery segments are pretty good, FPS is adequate, if barely, and the driving and fighting are crap.

it's very symbolic of the gaming age in which was conceived. ;)

As a package it fares quite well, although no one section could hold up by itself. A pretty good 3DO game, I think.

a must have 3do game, over all a good game for the system that was not on any other system.

I remember hearing rave reviews about this one, but then when I finally tried it for myself in the early '00s, I was fairly unimpressed. I recall enjoying the shooting gallery/light-gun-like portions though.

I thought it was an enjoyable game, until I got to the fighting part of it. Then I got my butt kicked, repeatedly and gave up on it.

I think it was pretty good in relation to other 3DO games. It definitely had pretty high production values. (for it's time) I mostly remember the shooting gallery stages, so maybe that is where my fond memories are coming from. It's too bad that the entire game wasn't just the shooting gallery segments, because I think that was easily the best part of it.

Not too shabby. It's an anomaly these days. I've put this game on and there are people who can't believe that they made a game based on Demolition Man because it flopped. I love the Movie though, and the game is outstanding. Parts aren't the greatest, but overall, it's cool. The extra footage with the actors was cool because it wasn't in the movie.
This is a stick up! Put all of your 3DO games in the bag and nobody gets hurt!

It's a good collection of different genres, agreed the fighting segments are bad, but better than "Shadow: War of Succession". It's unusual for a game because they actually were shooting stuff for it while the movie was being shot. Not really a common even at the high point of FMV games.

Even 75%+ of movie tie-in games now don't really have much to do with the movie other than name and characters.

The bonus hidden level in Virgin's offices, and the extended 'sex' scene make it even more campy. lol
