Hello, does anyone know how to create a graphic + cd disc to play on the 3do?

No. But I have tried. I'll have a look later.

No, he means the audio CDs that had images on them. As far as I know there is no way to do this on a home computer. The process requires special equipment.

As for Kodak Photo CDs the format is a trade secret. I do however have some software that I shouldn't exactly be privy to as it does make their file formats but it is to an advanced version with a menu that is not supported by the 3DO. I wish I had not tossed out my test disc as it may have worked on my CD-i and the architecture is a little complex.

if i bought an original cd+graphics disc, will the 3do be capable of playing it?

If you can find one, yes, the 3DO should display it no prolem. (It'll even play the "Rock Paintings" disc for the Sega cd)

On a semi-related note ... my Sega Saturn owners manual says the machine can play cd+eg (compact discs + extended graphics) Can anyone confirm if any of these were ever made?

Yes, they were. I remember seeing a Beatles one in a computer shop many years ago. It actually saved me as I had just bought a monitor and the sales rep went to show me the disc and pop the monitor died right there in the store. I never did get to see the disc but I got my money back.

Yep, it certainly does CD+G. Like Trev, I tried out my Sega CD's Rock Paintings disc and it worked fine in the 3DO. Strangely enough, the visuals looked much better on the 3DO, so I wonder if the images are of decent quality when slapped on the disc, but then toned down heavily when the Sega CD reads them with its lower display resolution and color count.

You probably right in assuming good images just being different due to hardware. SEGA CD was very limited, and extremely limited compared to 3DO.

Interesting, although I don't see a Beatles title in there, but then again the Compilations section is down too. Thanks for the link.

I don't see any cd+eg releases on that list at all.

Ah you are right. Only CD+G discs there, that's why no Beatles.

Hmm,

I posted this on the Collective years ago, but why not just make your own? You can just get Power Karaoke's CD+G Creator:

So do I. Time has not been on my side. Neither has hosting access. But that's been a long standing issue.

Glad I could still help though. I still stop by here occasionally.

The fact that the 3do was able to play video always interested me, it's actually one of the features which convinced me that 3do wuz the future! Now that we are actually in the future... and wii (oops) we the fans help to prolong the life of this great system. Is it possible for a non programmer to create personal/original cd+g, mpeg compatible discs?

As an example... as we all know! The fz-1's demo disc as well as the wwp & friends series handled video w/ audio with precision.

It would be great to be able to make use of these features with software of personal interest... R there no others that would agree with me
