This game, even on release, always struck a chord with me. I really was looking forward to it and then really loved it after it was released. My original version was a pirated French version for the Atari St. Needless to say I bought a few originals since then. ST, Amiga and 3DO!

Well - the 3DO version was widely considered the best version, and naturally I have a copy but the crown for best version has now left the 3DO and moved to one of those new fangled PC thingies.

7 Euros for the downloaded version! (bargain) Apparently it's tweaked version with better graphics and some alterations to game play.

It really is a gorgeous update:

I hope something like this for Flashback eventually comes out, too. As great as Out of this World/Another World is, I think Flashback is the superior game!

...mumble ...mumble.

I always felt that Flashback lacked a certain "je ne sais quoi". It was good - don't get me wrong, but i always felt that Another World embodied that WOW factor with far more elegance. It seemed almost more pure where Flashback was fussy and more like a regular game.

Flashback was to Another World, what Alone in the Dark 2 was to Alone in the Dark. It was bigger, more refined and some said better but, in my warped view of the gaming world, it's soul was gone.

(Of cause I respect other peoples point of view though :D )

I love Out Of This World. Sorry, live in the US and that's the title for it here. I also enjoyed Heart Of The Alien also. Flashback was fun as was Blackthorne, one of the high points to still owning a 32-X.

I have always liked this game. I remember playing it on a friend's 286.
