Hi I bought a 3do lightgun on ebay, Well I hooked it up RCA and tried COAX and It just does nothing. So I got another one today and it does nothing.
My sega plays light gun games fine, its a tube tv.
If I hook a controller up my 3do gun games play ok , its like It doesnt see the gun. In the 3do game manuls it just says press the option button well i do that 100 times.
Is it really possible I got 2 bad guns, This last one I got said 100% tested and working, I mean yea they could lie. But I feel like I am doing something wrong if neither gun works, but I mean theres not much to do wrong, you plug the gun and press the button what is the deal any ideas? I never owned a 3do in the past so maybe I am just doing something wrong.
I tried daisy chaining to the controller, tried daisy chaining the 2 guns , still nothing.
It would be my assumption that Worse case scenario both guns lights are burned out , well I should AT least be able to push the option button on the gun and get some sort of response from my 4 gun games I own. Its like its not getting a signal what so ever

NTSC or PAL? Generally speaking they do not like PAL - also can you post pics of the gun - some sellers try to sell the identical looking sega ones as 3do compatible as they command more dollars .

Thanks mattyg, Yea you got it, I thought it was weird this thing didnt have the dongle adapter on the end like my other 3do gun, And my other 3do gun the first one I got has a 3DO sticker on it and the dongle. Unfortunately it does not work though at all.
The new one I got sure enough its a justifier in disguise. It says Sega CD compatible on the sticker instead of 3do and doesnt have the dongle.
So basically I got deceived. I hooked it up to my Sega cd with lethal enforcers 2 and the start button on it works but it doesnt shoot, my real sega justifier shoots fine, so not only is it a sega version but its broke to boot lol. Tested 100% working my ass lol. how annoying. I give up on my quest for a working 3do gun. These things cost $70 to buy on ebay and they are broke or fakes. Hopefully dude will give me my money back since its a game company with 100% feedback
Whats really funny is he advertises it as the 3do gun. but when you asked for a picture i copied the URL and

lol he even called the picture the justfier and lied in the ad which really pisses me off.
Thanks for the help

sorry to hear that happened. You are not the first victim or are you going to be the last.
I am glad you sorted out the problem - you run the risk of damaging your 3DO or your controller/gun if you plug the wrong one in. The 3DO actually uses the Nintendo pin arrangement but the common Atari/Sega/Amiga serial plug. They did this so they could use of the shelf components to keep manufacturing costs down but force you to buy propriety peripherals. This is why there are 3DO to SNES control adapters but nothing to Sega controllers .
As an alternative to the gun the mouse works quite well on some of the shooters and can be picked up still boxed and new for around $30 from some places such as Haleys Used game World amongst others.
