I had forgotten about this until yesterday when looking at a regular run-of-the-mill sampler disk.
If you take the insert out...
... and look at the bottom right-hand corner where there is a screen shot of the storage manager menu you can see one of the save games being titled as:
final_fantasy 3%
... odd.

Even if the morrow is barren of promises, nothing shall forestall my return.

Hmmm... I searched for a similar post before making this thread to make sure I wasn't just rehashing and didn't find anything. Do you happen to know which thread that was in?

I doubt there was a 3DO port of Final Fantasy in the works. More likely this was someone having fun renaming their save files. This is also someone who had that ability before the Game Guru came out.
What is odd is that they would choose to use that screen shot showing Final Fantasy as a save file example in an
early mass distributed disk when no talk or intention of porting the game to the 3DO had even been mentioned.

Depends who made the disc.
The facts.
1) We know Square weren't in love with Nintendo due to the lack of CD
2) We know Square was in league in Micro Cabin.
3) Panasonic published all the Mircocabin stuff.
I will investigate this further tomorrow, when i don't have to get up at 5:00am.

Sorry, I don't remember. The only reason I even recall it was because I hadn't heard of a FF rumor until someone mentioned it here.
