Sooo... This is quite the little gem I just added to my collection today (finally arrived in the mail from Japan!).
(ok, it's not really a gem)
It was an interesting effort I suppose. One of those kinds of games that probably could have been something great if it had a little (by a little I mean a lot) more polish. A 1-on-1 battle game set from a first-person perspective. I definitely like the idea, sans the quirky Japanese characters and voice acting, but this is another case where a poor framerate kills the game (I know, I know, you hear me say that a lot.. but it does in this case! I mean it!). I'd really hate to see how this thing runs in four-player split screen mode! Yikes.
'Kid, I probably should have taken your blog's advice, but I digress. At least I have another quirky collectible in the, er, collection, that most people probably haven't heard about.

If I squinted just right (and had enough to drink) I suppose I might see this game as a quirky little Japanese variant of Battlesport. No booze in the house though, and the sun has set ...
Its cool that you nabbed a copy for your collection though ... I also see the potential in this one, but the negatives just stack too high.

You are absolutely right, Trev. The potential was there, but it's just too bad for its own good. Very poorly executed, almost impossible to play, it seems (at least, I haven't figured out how to be successful at it, heh).
I actually tried doing a casual talk 'n play type of video on it earlier today. It was hard to talk about. After about five takes I had to give up and put it back on the shelf.

I basically rely on the shift buttons to slide around the arenas. Dodging the weapons is pretty much the only option I think, as I never found a way to destroy them.Austin wrote:Very poorly executed, almost impossible to play, it seems (at least, I haven't figured out how to be successful at it, heh).
