Yeah, yeah, yeah...
Okay, if I had to reduce my Jag faves down to just 10 great games, my list would look something like:
AvP - (Atari Jag classic! It hasn't aged terribly well imo, but it's still iconic and enjoyable enough to make my top 10)
Cybermorph - (It may have been the pack-in game, but that doesn't prevent it from being a great, solid 3D title!)
Doom - (No. Not at all unique to the Jag. But I LOVE Doom... on any platform... at any time!)
Iron Soldier - (One of the best titles for the Jag imo. The sense of scale, silky smoothness and VR-3Dness makes this still stand up strong)
Power Drive Rally - (Overlooked and underrated overhead racer. Sure, it's 2D, but the gameplay, detail and music is superb)
Protector SE - (Easily overlooked and oft detracted as a Defender [2K] clone, but it's far superior imo)
Super Burnout - (Silky smooth, beautifully realised 'scaler' style racer. Amazing to both watch and play)
Tempest 2000 - (Best game on the Jaguar. Most of us know it... and Jeff knows it!)
Ultra Vortek - (Unique, cool and reasonably well executed fighter. I like the ambition here as much as I have fun with the game itself)
Zero 5 - (Awesome arcade style 3D shooter. I enjoy it for it's quirky, unusual nature combined with superb execution!)
-
Honourable Mentions that didn't quite make it...
Flashback - (BEST port of Flashback imo, which makes this version rather special imo. Too widely available to make
my Jag top 10 though)
Hover Strike - (Really like this game... would probably be No.11 if it was a list of 11!)
Iron Soldier 2 - (Haven't spent enough time with it, if I'm honest! Might v.well be a top 10 contender!!)
Missile Command 3D - (Looks great, but I can sometimes find it unenjoyable to play if not in the right frame of mind)
Rayman - (Not "unique" enough to be in my Jag top 10, but excellent nonetheless)
Wolf3D - (Great game, but I simply prefer AvP & Doom for my overall Jag FPS'ing)
