All Jag Talk in here please and well see if it justifies a forum all of it's own!

My all time favourite Jaguar Games:

1. Power Rally.
2. Rayman
3. Iron Soldier (very very awesome)
4. Iron Soldier II
5. Pitfall.
6. AvP
7. Raiden
8. That Ocean Pinball one.

In many ways Jag ownership complements 3DO ownership. Why? Well the the 3DO didn't have: A top down racer, a big stompy robot game or a SHUMP. The Jag had no meaningful car game (to meet NFS), no JRPG, and between Rayman, Pitfall & Gex you have all the none (Sega/nintendo) 2D platformers you will ever need.

..and that reminds me: THE GUY FROM TELEGAMES IS A THIEVING TW*T -- WHERE IS MY £25 FOR A COPY OF TOWERS YOU LYING THIEVING GIT. -- That is all. (I have the email thread to back up this claim!)

Guess what 3DOKid? I agree w/all your choices! :o I`d also add Super Burnout, Tempest, Missle Command 3d ... maybe Defender 2000, maybe Flip Out.

I'd add them too. Missile COmmand is aces and Tempest is very beautiful, if somewhat boring.

My wife & I just discovered 2 player Tempest. It gives the game some legs ... although it's really pretty chaotic overall. She liked it well enough, plus the soundtrack. One of a very small # of good Jag scores.

One thing that would have been a nice inclusion w/Tempest is an extra like 'plasma pong' found in Defender 2000. What does Breakout 2OOO have for extras I wonder?

The only Jag game I own is Tempest 2000. I keep meaning to pick up something else for it, but can't seem to pull the trigger. I want Breakout 2000, but it's hard as hell to find.

I bought a rotary controller for T2K a little over a year ago. It's fantastic and I will never go back to the d-pad.

So far I have Bubsy , Zool 2, AVP (loose cart unfortunately) and Iron Soldier

The Jag can be a fun little system, once you realize that there are basically like 10 games for the system that are any good

Unfortunately for the Jag, some of it's best games are available in surperior form on 3DO. Flashback w/cd cinemas & improved audio for example. Wolfenstein 3d is another case (not sure how Soccer Kid compares?) Still all great additions to the Jag library ... Flashback may actualky be one of my favorite games ever! :D

A good comparison I always used to put the Jag up against the 3DO are the FPS games, especially AvP vs. Killing Time

Both AvP and KT generally run at the same frame rate, with the same style of wide open spaces and extremely tight corridors. Granted KT uses digitized sprites from actors, but both games have the same pixelation when you get right up close to a sprite / wall / door / ect

Of course the 3DO blows the Jaguar away in the audio department and in fmv cinemas

Both games are very similar in alot of ways, and I feel as if either game could be ported to the other console and run basically the same as on their original platforms

but of course then you say the words "Checkered Flag" and the Jaguar then becomes the biggest piece of shit ever made

Checkered Flag is below average to be sure, but w/practice it is playable. Fight for Life gets my vote as the Jag's worst!

Checkered Flag has a charm, I like looking at it, playing it isn't much fun :)

Attack of the Mutant Penguins is worth a punt and Worms on the Jaguar?

Zero 5 is worth getting too. It is, harder than nails, but quite elegant at the same time.

As far as KillingTime vs AvP goes, I always felt AvP was the better game but Killing Time was more technical.

AVP beats out Killing Time (imho) although I confess I've yet to beat it ...

what? What? WHAT?! Ok I have AVP, complete in box with manual and all three overlays. Plus I LOOOOOVE Alien, I have 22 DVDs of just Alien stuff (lost of fan-edits and preservation stuff) an Alien cookie jar... ect. ect. BUT in no way does the Jaguar AVP game beat Killing Time!

I'd like to see a pic of that Alien cookie jar ... 8) Avp has better enemies (again, imho) although admitedly the jag has far less competition in the fps category.

AvP might be fun, but no way is it better than Killing Time, at least to me. But I am majorly biased haha

Should I move this over to the Jag forums? Kind of a nice little archive of the first post for something that has grown to be a part of us. Plus I'll be getting a photo of the cookie jar and my complete AVP game next to each other. (As soon as I can find my carts. grrrrr)

Move it. There are too many stickies in this forum now, anyway.
