Game Guru

Post by 3DO Experience » Sun Apr 26, 2009 9:06 pm

Many of these I have made myself and I know others will be submitting. Some of these can take a lot of time to make, take Escape From Monster Manor.. I made 55 codes. So if you are submitting codes and you know the source please list it so I can put that person's name on it. I also have a corrupt list from Alzarius (which I think has some of my codes) that I will put in as soon as I've fixed it.

3DO Game Guru

Advanced features:
Select the "Enter Code" option from the menu. Select the "GameGuru.CFG" saved game file from the list. Enter IHAVETHEPOWER as a code. A prompt will appear to confirm activation. The Game Guru will restart with the advanced features. These features include creating new Game Guru codes by hacking saved game files and transferring saved games between 3DO game systems. This is accomplished by using the Advanced Features to create a saved game file. Data in the file is entered in hexadecimal format. By reversing this process, any saved game can be converted to hexadecimal text for transfer through Internet resources or standard print media.

3DO Sampler Disk #2

First play the sample of GRIDDERS. Once the game starts, press P
then select SAVE & QUIT (although SAVE is struck out, it still works).

Now go into the Game Guru, and copy the file labled...

Gridders by Tetragon

Use whatever file name you wish for the copy. Patch the following code
into the original file.

Play Level 6 :

SSUXVSUXVSUFSXF
OXVSUXVSUXVWLXF
NSULLXF

Now if you look in the file &/or do a sync compare you'll see that a row
of 1's (in your ascII window) has been changed to a row of 5's. Change
these numbers to change the level of play.

Unfortunatly, you're still stuck with the 5 minute time limit for play,
but it's better than nothing.

Cannon Fodder

Unlimited continues Game Guru fix:
The 999 Recruits Remaining code in the Game Guru's internal library will cause the game to crash after 360 soldiers have been killed. In order to continue from this point, a new game must be started and patched with the last mission and phase completed. Due to the complexity of the saved game file, which saves the kills and rank of every soldier, the Game Guru will state that there are "TOO MANY CHANGES" when attempting to create a standard Game Guru code. Thus, the following manual procedure must be used to create a saved game that can be continued:

1. Rename your current "CannonFodder" saved game file to "CannonFodder0"
2. Use the Game Guru's Hex Editor and make a note of the value of offsets 24 and 48 in the "CannonFodder0" file. This assumes your latest game is in the first saved game slot. Offset 24 corresponds to the phase, and offset 48 corresponds to the mission.
3. Start the game and immediately save a new game in the first saved game slot without playing a mission.
4. Use the Game Guru's Hex Editor and edit offsets 24 and 48 of the "CannonFodder" saved game file to match those from the "CannonFodder0" file.
5. If desired, re-apply the 999 Recruits Remaining and/or Maximum Experience codes from the Game Guru's internal library.
6. Load the patched saved game to resume gameplay.

Note that this may place your phases out of sync. For example, the last phase of the Jungle More Jungle, "Donkeytastic", may appear as the first phase of Chiller Thriller Killer, which is the next mission. This may be corrected by editing offset 24 after the next mission has been completed and saved.

Lucienne's Quest

The following codes may ONLY be entered at the start of a NEW game. Do not
attempt to modify later saved games as they will most likely corrupt. This
is the procedure to correctly and safely enter these codes and modify your
files. Start a new game. After all of the initial conversations, exit the
house directly. As soon as you are outside, SAVE your game and do NOTHING
else! Remove Lucienne's Quest and insert the Game Guru cd.

These codes only work on the first save game slot. There are 3 codes. One
is a gold code, the last 2 are boost codes for the first two characters in
the game, Lucienne and Ago. You may enter either one, two or all three
codes. However, you may only enter the codes one time each. If they are
entered later in the game, you will most likely corrupt your saved game.
When you are finished entering the codes, you must use the hex editor to
edit byte number 2047. Depending on how many codes you enter, depends on
what changes need to be made to byte 2047.

First, enter any or all of the following codes.

Piles of Gold

VEEDDWWXF

Stat/Level Boost for Lucienne

ZEEDDSKXF

Stat/Level Boost for Ago

TEEDDWVWF

When you are finished entering the codes, enter the hex editor and locate
byte 2047.

If you use one code, you must raise the byte by two.
If you use two codes, you must raise the byte by four.
If you use three codes, you must raise the byte by six.

For example, if your byte is currently at 00 and you entered two codes,
use the directional control on the control pad to raise the byte to 04.
This means you will press the pad 4 times to raise it to 04. The byte
can contain numbers and letters so don't let that confuse you.
Thanks to TomServo3K

(for use with those above)
Instead of using the HEX editor you can input these codes.

1 code used:
IVXDCJF

2 codes used:
GTXDCJF

3 codes used:
WUXXXXF
KXSMXDCJF

The element codes can be used together, or individually. They go right
down your list of elements in your ship.

10 Landing Craft

XIXUTXF

The following only work AFTER you have met with the Melnorme the first
time. However, the Melnorme credits code may or may NOT work on your
game. There were at least 2 revisions of Star Control 2. If this code
does not work on your version, use the lifeform code. This will give
you lifeforms to sell to the Melnorme and gain the extra credits that
way.

Give your ship all Melnorme items

TUXFXEMTXTIXF

65,534 Melnorme Credits

LFEDDFIXF

The following code may be entered at any time and can be used multiple
times. You do not have to wait to meet the Melnorme to use this code,
however your cargo bays will be clogged with lifeforms if you do use it.
Therefore, it's recommended that you use it only when you are going to
trade with the Melnorme.

Increase Life-Forms onboard to 61,613 units
