RPGs are largely outmoded cling-tos based on the limitations of older hardware. There are some really good ones that get released, don't get me wrong, but these days complex action and story can have far superior outlets. There's no reason to make a gamer play a spreadsheet in space.

Why thank you, but I'm hoping the actual game part works out. Plus I have to convince the guys they actually want to work on it.

I'll make the bare bones RPG XP available to download when I'm done with it... but that's a looong time away.

LDs use analog tech, which is a blocky bitch if they get damaged but always results in the greatest quality with skilled engineering. It's not always the most obvious thing, but listen to the album The Blackened Air by Nina Nastasia with headphones on and it becomes obvious.

I think Microsoft has proven they're not making consoles you should buy at launch (the chapass multi-die system leading to RROD, calling the slim a redesign and thus ineligible for protection, etc) and I need to see if they ban development again. Forcing consumers to upgrade like that should have pu...

SC2 certainly has an impact on my dialog. In one scenario your ship's power goes down, lights and all. You have a line choice right before the emergency power kicks in. One of the lines? "Okay, we start eating the ensigns and then move on to anybody too stupid to stay in their quarters. Hand me the ...

Game making

I'm working on a pitch for my two programmer friends, one of whom has a license to release on Nintendo and Sony platforms. I'm still in the paper doc stage, but plan to design the entire story and logic engine in RPG Maker XP (Not the actual game engine, though, this is kind of an animatic for later...

I'd say SF2 or Foes of Ali (it's only recently that EA's boxing titles have gotten away from that formula). Ice Breaker and Gex are good, but not topping anything besides WotW on that list. Wolfenstein was good, but very late to the party.

It's granted that there will be a certain amount of nutty here; Little Tokyo is next to Skid Row and hard times have forced me to a hostel one street on the wrong side. One street is enough.

knitting circle of damnable lies traweled from some hysterical ratings-hungry news hour, modified to fit you and your one awful mumu into the starring role of each one! Pick a direction and fuck off in it very quickly!" There was politely muted applause from somewhere down the hall. I have a problem...

Living in the room on my other side is a shitheaded crazy woman. She will wait in the hallway for somebody to latch onto and then follow them around, shitheading in various ways: *Somebody stole her food. Cue three days of "I have no food!" *Somebody's trying to "snatch" her. *Some criminal group is...

Apparently Shenmue thinks so: A transvestite character was changed to be an actual woman.

The Warriors does have a cross dresser out on a prom date, however. So Exp proves my point.

Press X to not be hit by a football. Epic!

May it burn in two hells simultaneously just for popularizing that gameplay concept. An entire generation of game designers owe their excused lack of design innovation to that virtual inflated bladder /w membrane.

It seems like it was really easy to knock one lense out of alignment on those things. I found that a quick disassembling and reassembling did the trick. I cleaned it out and fiddled with it, sure, but I'm sure none of that meant anything. I think it was just a bit loose, wire slipped, etc.
