*Update* Looks like the 3DO special has slipped to issue #122. This from the magazines forums: Re: Retro Gamer Issue 120 - Feedback Thread Postby Megamixer on Thu Sep 12, 2013 6:37 pm "Thought the 3DO piece was supposed to be in this issue? Has it slipped?" Retro Gamer Magazine - 20 Years of 3DO

Hey all, I just found out that Retro Gamer Magazine will be including a "20th Anniversary of the 3DO" special in their September issue (#120) releasing on 9/19/13 in the U.K. and should start showing up about three weeks later in the U.S. The preview for the special mentions an interview with Trip H...

Killing Time vs. Escape from Monster Manor

How would you say the frame rate compares between Escape from Monster Manor and Killing Time? Is Killing time more laggy? If so, by how much? I was playing KT today and the frame rate seemed borderline unacceptable to me. I know there is ALOT more going on technically in KT than in EFMM and maybe I ...

I played my copy on my FZ-10 and everything seemed fine. I will hook up my FZ-1 and Goldstar and try them later. That was nice of you. Thank you for testing it for me. Both of my units are FZ-10 models and both of them had trouble playing the audio during the intro so... if yours works fine then I ...

Dragonlore intro audio

Alright, so after waiting YEARS I finally picked up Dragonlore from everyones favorite online trading site. I was so excited to finally get it! It was a used, open copy but the listing described the discs as being in fantastic shape and it came with the manual. Normally I would have purchased a seal...

B.C. Racers - Version Differences?

Hi all, Just picked up B.C. Racers (for the 3DO of course). Though the game can get quite pixelated (especially while zoomed out), I was actually impressed by the character designs, background art style and how vivid and clean the colors were. The game chugged a little in 2 player split screen, but ...

From 3DO... where do you go?

So, inevitably it'll happen. Eventually, at some point you finish. You reach the goal. Collection complete. You could be like me, attempting to assemble a complete U.S. 3DO library. Or, maybe you're into the Japanese scene and are going for a complete set from that region. Maybe you have a predefine...

I too would keep the FZ-10. The memory manager alone makes it worth it. I have had a disc tray burn out on an FZ-1 and it was a real heart break. The pop up lid of the FZ-10 makes me worry less about having to part with my 3DO. Keep the controllers of the FZ-1 though so you can do the cool headphone...

Now THAT'S interesting. So the majority, or at least, a healthy amount will not have resolution issues? No wavy or scrolling lines when played on an NTSC system hooked up to an NTSC television?

Wait a second... this is probably a stupid question but... European PAL 3DO games will play in an NTSC American 3DO system and look correct on the screen...? That's not possible, right?

Do you remember when Phillips licensed the massively popular "Plumbers don't wear ties" franchise for their CD-i system? "Plumbers don't wear ties: Porcelain Destiny" It was a sidescroller that looked like it was made in MS Paint. All of the in game close ups of John made it look like he was wearing...

Star Wars Chess?

Hello, So I've been working through a checklist of U.S. releases in building up my collection. I've been moving through alphabetically and have reached the heart of the 'S' section. Star Wars Chess is listed as a U.S. release on my checklist, and although I can find a few websites that reference a 3...

Like Elitegamer, I collect by the mantra of why buy it if you're not going to play it. With a caveat... Employing a practice that is sure to revile most other hardcore collectors, when I buy a vintage game, I usually spend the extra money to purchase a sealed copy, then immediately open the game, pl...

This is a good question posed by Elitegamer. I think the likelihood of finding 3DO items may vary by region. I lived in California for many years and 3DO stuff was nearly impossible to find in stores. Everything had to come from Ebay. Recently, I moved to another region of the country and was surpri...

Both models had 32kb? Wow, I must have had an FZ-1 with defective RAM. Is that possible? I saved like 3 games on it and it was full. I saved the same three games on my FZ-10 and still had over 3/4 of storage space left. I always just assumed they had expanded the storage space on the later model. Th...

FZ-10 has much more internal storage space then the FZ-1. With my FZ-1 I would run out of space after 2-5 games. With my FZ-10 I believe I have about 12 different titles saved and I have only eaten up about 3/4 of my memory so far.
