Re: New emulator - 3DOPlay

I'll stick to 4DO, I honestly don't see the point in this. I appreciate anyone who makes any effort to improve 3DO Emulation, but 4DO is running strong and well and is really close to perfection (I'm aware they're both based on FreeDO.) so I just honestly don't see this as necessary. Does anyone el...

Hoo boy, do I have some good news. Although I can't get 3DOPlay to run I can access the source code. And I'm trying their changes out now! Now, don't get your hopes up too much, but at first glance this seems to have solved at least the Gex and Street Fighter II freezes! I can play Gex again! I'm su...

Well, if 3DOPlay is what it says it is, I could import the core emulation fixes. I can't get the dumb thing to work, though! *sigh*

New emulator - 3DOPlay

There's another emulator based off FreeDO code: http://3doplay.do.am/

It looks like he's been making some fixes to the core! On top of that, it's open too! Hooray!

However, I've tried a couple versions but I can't seem to get it to work. Has anybody else had any luck?

2 player was the bomb.

And yeah, I even loved it single player. Destructible environments were a bit of a novelty, maybe that's part of it.

I didn't own Sewer Shark back in the day but I've gotta agree it's a great game. I have a soft-spot for FMV games, even though most were crappy-crap CRAPPIN' crap! Both the shooting and choose-a-direction thing in sewer shark works very well, in my opinion. I agree a light gun woulda been nice, but ...

Yikes! Maybe all the "Plumbers Don't Wear Ties" talk has got people in a tiffy. On the homebrew note, I remember one of the guys from FreeDO (felix/admin I think) talking about making the 3DO SDK available and usable on platforms other than the macintosh. Well, just the C headers and libraries. Stil...

All of the talk about women in the old 3DO games and no one mentions Talana from Star Control 2? I almost mentioned Star Control 2. Something about ogling non-live-action babes seemed too nerdy. Well I had a bad run on console choices. Really, really bad. This is going to be embarassing. NES - Most mainstream system I ever owned. Life Force awaited me on its arrival. Well I can tell you what I know, but it's not a full picture of what you'd need. I know that the movies in 3DO games are typically files. I think by the time Ballz arrived on 3DO, the 15 mins of fame that it enjoyed on the 16-bit consoles had ended. It certainly is a huge step up in all departments, and I really dig the atmosphere. The fighting engine though is ... I dunno, I gotta play it again (its been a while) Its a good fighter ...

I'm getting a kick out of the lackadaisical Game Informer content. Classic!

Well, I guess it's possible I just was exposed to inane, flashy fighting games. I have heard people support Virtua Fighter and Street Fighter as requiring skill. Street Fighter's probably the one with the most praise.
