Re: Seriously, why no new port of DOOM?
Uhm, okay then. I won't post anymore what if thrweads here on 3DOZone. I guess it isn't the "Cool" thing to do? Forbid I would want to see something new for a dead system that no programmers care about. I don't understand where all this hostility is coming from, but don't really appreciate it eithe...

Re: Seriously, why no new port of DOOM?
Have you been drinking again? O_o Uhm, nope. No9 more than anyone else making ports of classic games to retro systems like the Heretic one for the Jaguar or Wolfenstein 3D and the subsequent new port of DOOM coming for the 32X. Why? Because nobody programming cares about the 3DO. :P That and I doub...

Re: shareware Heretic for the Jag
Looks good, but I'd like to see it running on original hardware (with camcorder footage to show it preferably, just to know it's surely legit). It appears they are still using emulation for these videos, judging by the framerate counter at the top. If they can get it running this well on original ha...

Re: How are you supposed to beat offworld interceptor?
Wow. Such hared for a 3DO Classic. :P Truth be told though, I never beat it anyway. I thought it was an interesting game, but I don't really remember a time when it really grabbed me. Perhaps I should give it another whirl after so much time has passed. I don't think the game is that bad, per-se. I...

It looks like these guys are getting close. A pre-order page is up now for those that didn't get a chance to back their Kickstarter. It appears the game will be discounted slightly for those that pre-order it. Link: http://www.zojoi.com/shadowgate/

I do hope they do this again next year. Some friends up there are trying to get me to make the trip out. I have yet to play Battlesphere, and that would certainly be a nice bonus to going.

Re: shareware Heretic for the Jag
The source code of the Heretic engine was published in 1999 under a license that granted rights to non-commercial use, and was re-released under the GNU General Public License on September 4, 2008. This resulted in ports to Linux, Amiga and other operating systems, and updates to the Heretic engine...

Austin, "Atari Age is a private site." Perhaps someone could summarize? I'm not quite sure what you mean by that. Unless it's just a personal rule or something (or unless something went down with you there and you're no longer allowed there), AA is an open forum, you don't need to be a member to se...

Yep, they come right off easily. That is, once you get past all the screws, heh.3DO Experience wrote:WOW! I might try the boil method next time I need to. Like on a SNES pin connector, IIRC they come right off the board and I don't have any spares. (unless you count all the extra systems in my kitchen)

Cool, will have to give this a try on my currently non-functional NES. I've often thought about getting at the pin connectors but wasn't sure what I could do with them if I did. Some people prefer simply letting the connector sit in boiling water. No joke. ( http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/message...

Atari Age? Are you trying to be funny? No, it was a logical suggestion, as were the others. Can't get over the framerate personally, so this one is at the bottom of the list for me. Shame too, because everything else about it is cool. I have better things to do these days than deal with interactive slideshows (that's how bad it drops at points inside the mansion).

I always thought it looked cool and seemed like a neat premise for a RPG. The heavy amount of Japanese text was pretty off-putting though, unfortunately, so I have never personally played it.

Austin does make a good poitn though in the the flipper work was a mess. If that one thing had been tightened up for the physics to work right, this game would have been awesome. I think specifically because of this aspect, the game is a trainwreck. The flipper action in a pinball game is arguably ...
