Honestly, I haven't gotten around to playing Winning Post yet. I only played Paddock Note '95 because (like most import games in my apartment) RisingStuff arbitrarily shipped it to me to review.

As long as the patent has expired on what they're emulating in the country they sell it in, then I say no harm no foul. Like the current batch of imitation Famicoms you can get ahold of. The 3DOs patents are far from expiring though, and since 3DOs are relatively cheap to buy... I don't see the need...

I think it's just because no one knew how to port it or break the 3DO "encryption"

Guess I should introduce myself.

I'm Trae, I've been enamored with the 3DO since I first played it at a friend's house in 1994. I didn't get my own until 2001.

I currently do a series of 3DO reviews called 3DO To Go.

That's about it.
