Massive thread dig up! I'm a big fan of lemmings from back in the amiga days, and have been hunting for a complete Jap copy of this. Regardless of whether you guys like it or not, how does it compare to other versions? Oh, and how hard is it to pick up a 3do mouse? I didn't even bother to read this...

Asides from that, I prefer the FZ-10.. But, if you are the type to have every system under the sun hooked up to your television, the FZ-1 is much more convenient, as you can stack other systems on top of it. It wins just for that.

Those are awesome dogs. I'm not as much of a dog person as I am a cat person, but if I had a dog, that would be the kind I would want.

If they reveal the full specs and it turns out that it takes physical media, it may be an interesting platform.

I personally can't see too many flaws in Lemmings. There are traits some may not like, such as the time limit, but they are by no means "flaws". If you're not used to the game, or you're playing on a high difficulty level, or it's just not your cup 'o tea, that's a different story altogether. Asides...

Yeah, it's a solid title that holds up very well today despite there being very few actual textures. It's just polished for what it is. Being it's still a mech game though, it's certainly not for everyone.

My guesses are about the same as others here, primarily a steering wheel or a karaoke setup. I'm really curious to know what this is.

I guess the full texture work must be the culprit? I am not 100% sure how the 3DO architecture works, and whether or not it requires more processing power / memory to handle all the textures as opposed to enemies? Just curious if anyone knows the answer to that I really think it's just poor optimiz...

I remember the logitech controllers being decent, but the d-pads were not the best for fighters. Wish I could buy one cheap, but it seems the cheapest on evilBay is about 25 dollars.

IMO though the standard Panasonic controller is the best and most comfortable pad that I've used, particularly the later-edition smaller one version without the headphone jack. Hm. Did you manage to use the site all in Japanese as it is, or is there an English option somewhere? It does seem like there's a much wider selection of import titles (No joysticks at the moment, unfortunately).

If my small scale is right, it's 2.8lbs. That's weighing it inside the box with styro. Just out of curiosity, how difficult is it to come by one of the Panasonic-released 3DO joysticks? I've seen boxed ones in some collection photos here, but never on eBay (not that I've really looked that hard thou...

Provided this forum software supports it, you could try simply kicking him out of the General forum. Then his only choice would be to talk about 3DO related items.. (Or--gasp!--the Jaguar ).

I can weigh it when I get home. Mine only came with the PlayStation attachment though, and it was supposedly brand new (I got it from the auction link above).

Yep, it certainly does CD+G. Like Trev, I tried out my Sega CD's Rock Paintings disc and it worked fine in the 3DO. Strangely enough, the visuals looked much better on the 3DO, so I wonder if the images are of decent quality when slapped on the disc, but then toned down heavily when the Sega CD read...

Delphine was involved in both, but OOTW was primarily made by one guy (who had nothing to do with Flashback, IIRC). They may have just provided funding on that project? Who knows.

Love both for varied reasons, but I will go with Flashback overall. In that one, I do enjoy the greater emphasis of the classic Prince of Persia style gameplay. OOTW is more straight-forward and arcade-like, for sure, but also requires the patience of a rock.

This is a unique joystick that uses adapters to enable the stick to be used on a variety of platforms. Supposedly there is also a 3DO adapter. Has anyone seen one of these adapters for this stick? I have the stick, but of course I am highly doubtful I will ever find the 3DO adapter. http://cgi.ebay....

That's strange. As far as I know, the 3DO version is the same as the Sega CD version, minus the in-game soundtrack. Weird.

I don't know.. The only thing that comes to mind right now is that if I was watching anime for three hours, I would have been thinking about videogames, too.

Anyone having troubles downloading this? Mine keeps hanging around the 25mb mark. I may have to try another PC..

Genki, huh? I wonder if it is an early effort at what would eventually turn into their XBOX game, Phantom Crash. That mech-like machine in the bottom picture especially looks like the bot-styling from that game.

so an LCD with a CRT resolution would be the solution? it would look the same or am I an idiot? But do LCDs even come in resolutions that low? I'm sure others here will know the answer to that one. Screens designed for higher resolutions, not to mention the 16x9-and-up ratios stretch the images of older games that don't support it, which is basically everything pre-360.
