3DO Doom succesfully compiled (but no way to run it)

Hello, Since 3DO Doom's source code was released, i tried to compile it and i was able to do it 2 days after the source code was released. Unfortunely, there was no way i could test it because OperaFS, the software i'm using to package my games/stuff into one ISO file, doesn't work properly with com...

Re: [New 3DO homebrew] Heli-copt3rs

Hello everyone, Heli-copt3rs is now using the Gameblabla's Wrapper and works on 3DO, PC, GCW, NSPIRE, PSP with no to little modifications to the code. Version 1.1 brings nothing to the game itself except it is now PAL optimised. (thanks to my library) It's just a showcase of what you can do with my ...

Re: Programming for 4 platforms at once (including the 3DO)

Hello everyone, I know nobody here cares about that kind of stuff but i just want to let you know i have updated my library and it is much more usable now. GNU/Linux is now supported. Link has changed and now redirects to my website. It's still not Github though, i will probably do it later. Any sug...

Programming for 4 platforms at once (including the 3DO)

I worked on this for a while and i intended to use it for myself to write cross-platform games so that i don't have to rewrite my game again and again for each platform. Seeing how sad the 3DO homebrew scene is (i'm all alone) , i decided to share my work. In its current state, it already supports I...

Re: [Tutorial] Compile your first 3DO game

Hello , thanks for your reply ! Also, I've noticed you've mentioned Topper a couple times, but I'm not familiar with his/her work nor where to find it. Where does he/she reside? Yeah, Topper is mostly known on yaronet and he currently lives in France. On the 3DO, he recently did a small quiz game th...

[Tutorial] Compile your first 3DO game

Hello, Seems like a lot of people are interested to make 3DO games and don't know how to do it. Hopefully this will help them. WARNING : This tutorial is not for complete beginners. Before we start , download this : http://goo.gl/bTOZjm What is it ? Well that's the Invades example by cdoty but modif...

Nice. Let's do this. Sorry to hear that Hide the baby is pretty much done as is. Hopefully we see some more cool stuff from you down the road? Yeah of course, I'm still not done with the 3DO. I've contacted Topper and he gave me his new improved graphic library for 3DO. Not only his graphic library...

Re: [New 3DO homebrew] Heli-copt3rs

Thats awesome. Hey is there any chance you can take your games and combine them into one burnable rom with a menu and such so we can play them that way instead of different disks for each game? That would be cool. Hmm , it can be done and there's apparently a function which could help me to do that...

[New 3DO homebrew] Heli-copt3rs

Hi, long time no see ! Sorry guys but i had to pause the development of 'Hide the Baby' because cdoty's libs were buggy and it became harder and harder to make progress because my code was all messy. See the Spagheti Limit So i have decided to port Dong Nyugen's latest game to the 3DO. That's right ...

Hello guys, long time no see ! I was busy working on Rubby Bird and some other games so i (almost) didn't work on Hide the Baby. But a project is a project so i'll try to complete it , if i have the time or the motivation. Meanwhile you can still test Hide the baby on your 3DO and especially tell if...

Hide the Baby for 3DO

Hello everyone ! I'm working on a new homebrew game for 3DO , Hide the baby. It's a port of Nick Weihs's game that was originally made for PC , Ouya and Web Browsers. I did a Sega CD and a Megadrive version and now, i'm working on a 3DO port. The 3DO port will have (slightly) better graphics but the...

Re: Proposed New Console: Sega Sol

I agree with you Austin but nothing prevent us to make a spiritual successor. The PS4 and the Xbox One are both based on Intel X86 architecture , why not make our own console ? I guess too few people are interested into that kind of project... I could try to make a proof-of-concept but right now, i'...

Funny enough , I had a similar project in mind 2 days ago. I had this idea when i saw this . I called the "Gocast" but Sega Sol is good too. (But we cannot use the 'Sega Sol' name obviously) I drew a logo for the console too : http://img97.xooimage.com/files/5/2/c/gocast-4390752.png I know , it suck...

Re: Homebrew game - Unlucky Pony (NEO Compo 2013)

Well, I got around to trying out version 1.3. The good news is the glitches with the takeoff sound effect and "Saunique Rinbloom" text are both fixed. The bad news is the game still crashes when I select "Take a rest". :( In fact, it now crashes without even the single line of text I got in version...

A demo is already available for those who want to try. You can't go to the options yet and there's no sound but it's already playable. Next version will have sound and the ability to choose from a selection of "skins". EDIT : A new version is available : This one fixes a serious glitch and improves ...

Killminds for 3DO - WIP

Hi everyone ! Sorry for the lack of news , i'm still making 3DO games but at a much lower rate. Like i promised , it's not a pony game and it's a "port" of Supra KillMinds for Megadrive. http://img95.xooimage.com/files/b/2/d/2013.11.10_17.42.46----4215329.png http://img95.xooimage.com/files/6/e/7/20...

Finally got out a 3DO and played this. Definitely my favorite of you games for the 3DO. Oh and the Uninvited instant death reference was priceless! I'm...

I have released a new update , here's the changelog : V1.2 Note : Version 1.1 was the last version submitted for the NEO COMPO 2013. (Version 1.2 is not for the NEO COMPO 2013) - The hit detection is fair now - The Clouds & Planes are much less faster when it's night - You start with 9 lives instead...

Re: 3doh - GNU/Linux 3do emu

Let's see if there's some way to improve performance in freedo, i have a low end notebook and it runs at 45-50 fps in 2d games. NFS is the slowest game that i've tested, about 22 fps ingame. Maybe some profiling can show us the slowest parts of code, i.e. improving the 3x3 matrix/vector product can...
