Re: Documenting 3DO Game Contents
The back. I seriously doubt that re-sealers would take the time to put in a hangtab. Also, there is mention in the text of this being a "first case." Was this intended to be the start of a series? Hah, I noticed that too as I was looking over your photo. My copy of the game came with the discs, cas...

Re: 3DO/PSX Shockwave differences
You've probably already done it by now but in case not, you probably want to check out some YouTube videos and make some comparisons. I hadn't, actually. I'm not sure I even thought of doing that, but I'm really bad at playing spot-the-difference (it once took me almost 15 minutes to solve one of t...

DVD or CD?
I'm a little bit confused as regard to the M2's software medium. I've found magazines from mid-1996 pretty firmly declaring that the M2 would use DVDs, but I'm now reading an interview with Trip Hawkins in the October 1996 issue of Next Generation in which he says that a DVD game system would not be...

Re: 3DO/PSX Shockwave differences
Some serious thread necromancy here, but has anyone tried out the Saturn or Pippin versions of Shockwave? Do they have the same weaknesses as the PlayStation version? (If so, it seems a shame... Last I checked the Saturn version is one of the few Saturn games that still goes for dirt cheap, and gett...

Re: 3DO gamegun and Demolition Man
Shoot, I can't believe I overlooked this thread until now. In all probability the original poster isn't even checking this forum anymore. Just in case, though: The 3DO Gamegun doesn't work with Demolition Man when plugged directly into the 3DO Interactive Multiplayer. You have to use a standard 3DO ...

Re: The Syndicate thread
Something has occurred to me. Mike Diskette tried to give Magic Carpet a go on the Jag and had no luck supposedly. We know the Jag can do textured 3D. HoverStrike etc. Not fantastic but it's there. I think he was overlooking some Jag fundamentals. He did two 2D games(Sydnicate, Theme Park) on the J...

Can you post the magazine article? I didn't know about Attack of the Mutant Penguins being release in PAL regions first, maybe "Atari Europe" had the game finished and this was them doing a last ditch effort to move the game out! Sorry it took me so long to respond. I've been having computer troubl...

Re: Getting all the beetles in D
Very cool.
For beetle spawning points, off the top of my head I remember beetles at the numbered drawers in chapter 1, and at the fountain in chapter 3. Never saw any beetles at the brick walls in chapter 3, and I've approached all of those brick walls at least once.

Attack of the Mutant Penguins
So, I'm still doing my old magazine researches, and I came across a good article about the Jaguar's official discontinuation. In it, an Atari representative owned up that Atari hadn't been developing Jaguar games for about six months, and that they would release just two more games for the system. O...

Re: Japanese Game Translation "Wish List"
Sorry, I haven't been checking on this part of the forum lately. I definitely second Grand Chef. I'd also love to see Ghost Hunter Series, though I may be unique in that desire. It's just such a deliciously weird game, and I love my first person dungeon crawlers. Blue Forest Story is not a bad idea ...

Re: Zelda's Adventure
The mystery deepens... I noticed on the Wikipedia article, Zelda's Adventure is listed not only as a PAL-only release, but a Netherlands-only release! No source for this claim is provided, and though I tried asking the editor who added it for more information, it's been over two months and still no ...

Re: Review - DOOM
Yeah, I've been wanting to play it myself. I'm intrigued by the thought of playing Doom on the 3DO, and since it only has 24 levels I could whip through it in just a few days. And one thing I've learned from playing the Saturn and SNES versions of Doom is that the merits or shortcomings of Doom conv...

Re: Finally replaced Wolfenstein, someone help though...
This truly is an excellent game on 3DO. Yeah, I was just reading through an issue of GamePro, and in their end-of-the-year awards they actually named Wolfenstein 3D the Best 3DO Game of 1995. Which is pretty crazy once you take into account that 1995 was the year of The Need for Speed, Return Fire,...

Re: My complaint about the 3DO start game exit screen setup.
I can' think of any game where I've had a problem with this, though I haven't played Shockwave Assault. The one thing that threw me for a while is that A, the leftmost action button, is used as the main action button in most 3DO games. I'm more used to the Saturn, NES, Game Boy Advance, etc., for wh...

Re: Review - Iron Angel of the Apocalypse: The Return
I just found this contemporary review of the game in Next Generation #15 (March 1996) and was floored by how it echoed precisely my own sentiments. The similarity is almost scary, but it's cool to know that someone else out there had the same reaction to the game as I did, all the more so when that ...

Pompous Tartar is about the same again, just a bit more difficult. Not sure if there was another weapon hidden in Medium Rare, did you look down where you find the meat cleaver in Pompous? Its been years since i played this, but i do remember a few things. I found the flame thrower good for getting rid of the green slime enemies. Really? Now I'm really cooking with this game! (Pun not intended but welcome nonetheless. :) ) I cheated a bit and consulted ewhac's Let's Play to see how to get to the top of "Jump", though I figured out how to get the jetpack from there on my own. Blitzed through another six levels and loving it. "Sponge"...

I really like Blackthorne and Prince of Persia which are kind of like Flashback, but I can't get into Flashback because the passwords are so few and far between. The term "interactive movie" actually refers to any game where full-motion video is a major component, regardless of genre. Button configuration isn't really a problem for me. I mean, sure, it annoys me when a game has an unusual button configuration and doesn't give the option to change it, or even...
